All of my student loans were paid off, and I never paid one penny on that debt. They will pay off up to 150k of student debt, however you have to work 5 years for them. All of my continued education is paid for, including any re-certification I have take every so often. I work at most 45 hours a week, and on bad weeks I have to work 50 hours. I work residential and if the kids decide to act up I may have to go in, but doesn't happen very often. 3 weeks of vacation and 20 sick days a year.
When I first started there it was as a practicum, and was hired on as floor staff. Made 11 hour doing it while working on my bachelors in philosophy/social work. Once I got my bachelors degree I jumped up to a case manager making 30k a year, and done that while working on my masters in clinical social work, and picked up my chemical and alcohol dependency certification while I was at it. Thankfully, all the years that I have been with them was counted to the time I need to work for them to not be charged back on having all my student loans paid off.

Most you never regard as "benefits" until you need them. 100% pay increase during overtime, but that is rare to be granted. Normally it is based on flexi time. You work +7.5 hours, take a paid day off. Have known people with so many + hours they had 7+ weeks off in a row.
Job is a temp job out this year so far, so looking for other jobs at the moment. Really enjoy it though. Last job was production of welfare disability and other benefits (the actual legal document production) with no face time to anyone. Now I get to help people from the get go, which is good, but can be a bit stressful.
What age ranges are you working with? Also, what approaches do you use? Is it mainly 12-steps/ Seven Challenges or are you using a different approach? Do you also have to deal with billing or do you have someone that does it for you?Are you mainly out-patient or do you work residential? I'm curious what methods are used in other countries.
Spending lots of time and effort getting people help only for them to skip out on it is stress inducing. Especially when you need to do it over and over and over, hoping that it sticks at one point. Feels really good when you manage it though.
Sadly, working with substance abuse this is very common. It's part of the process of working with addiction, and the best you can hope for is that at some point something you said sticks with them. Just make sure you are keeping yourself separated from your Clients and none of it is being brought home.
