Seeing people set up kickstarter's for their dog's vet bills rustles me up so much. Especially when you see them out at the bar all the time or heading off to vacation. If you can't afford a $2000 emergency vet trip, you should probably not have a dog. Same rule applies to children.

About 20 years ago Texas started a campaign against left lane campers. They had ads and billboards everywhere about "not matter how fast you're going, pull to the right if someone is behind you". They really pushed the "you're not the law, stop trying to enforce the speed limit" deal. They should bring it back again.

I just figured it was legal to kill someone in Texas that was driving too slow in the fast lane, so that kept the idiots out of it.

Dealing with a coworker who clearly is abusing FMLA and repeatedly calling off, all while posting stupid shit to her social media about being at concerts, drinking events etc on the days she SHOULD be at work while HR/Management do nothing about it. She misses about an average of one week to two weeks a month; I show up 10 minutes late one morning, my phone doesn't stop ringing asking WTF I'm at...

I'll go ahead and even extend that to people. Local couple here in town got rear-ended by a semi and their 2 kids in the back seat were killed, horrible thing. Parents survived with relatively minor injuries.

The Gofundme/kickstarter or whatever it is is up to almost $200,000. Look, losing a kid is horrible, I can't imagine losing two...but why do these people need $200,000? 2 Funerals is maybe $50k at MOST, you'd have to go all out to even spend that much. Those kids weren't income-generating members of the household. This isn't the husband dying and the family is now destitute because he was the only household income. So I guess congrats on getting your house paid off since you lost your kids? Shit makes no logical sense whatsoever.

And not only is the gofundme up to 200 grand, there's a big fund raiser dinner/charity event scheduled in town on top of that, for $30 per ticket. Christ.

Realizing that all the people I used to really be able to talk to... really TALK to about my life, my hopes, my fears, all sorts of shit... have either drifted away from me, moved on with their lives, or are dead. Or just don't talk to me anymore. Some is my fault. Some isn't.

The end result is that I now spend most of my time living inside my own head.

Some Major basically took a shit on my desk and gave me the "do you know who I am" speech when I told him I needed written authorization from the CO before I'd do what he requested. Then he turned around, sent that shit up his chain of command and it then came back crashing down mine with basically everyone in it taking a turn giving me hell. Wasted 2 hours of my life to find the general order that came out 3 years ago stating that I was right and sent it up the way hell previously came down. Everyone is done freaking out but they all have that look like I ran over their dog.

What a lovely day.

Seeing a white trash couple brag about having child number 5 when both parents are carriers of CF and it's a 50/50 shot their kid will have CF at that point. But who cares?
