Amazon and curbside pickup is the modern shopping experience.
Unless you actually enjoy the leisurely stroll through your local WalMart that is...
I would rather pick my own groceries inside the store then let someone else grab crappy food and not care.

I'm practically a luddite, but I'll take the wins where ever I can get them these days. And spending less of my life "shopping" or in any sort of retail establishment is a pretty clear win in my book.

I mean if you have extra $$$ to pay for people to shop for you (Shipt, insta cart whatever) fine, but don't bitch when the under minimum wage monkey brings back expired milk and messed up produce.

A lot of shit rustling me this month it seems.

Can't fucking fire an Iranian coder who can't code and is on FMLA for the next 3 months?!?

Then, one of my accounts, that is run regionally by a completely incompetent "diverse" CEO is finally sidelined after he lost his organization over one hundred million dollars. But what happens next? He is being replaced by someone who might as well be his twin...

What happened to earning a reputation (or even requiring one)? Un-fucking-believable.

FMLA people are untouchable. You can't question them when they use it or retaliate in any way and they abuse it constantly.

You need to realize that CISO, CIO, CEO are all "meat shield" positions to protect the board from liability. Think in terms of MMOs. They tank the "bad decision boss" until they have taken enough reputational damage, then the backup Tank taunts and repeats the process. It's one reason that in the hiring process ofany C level position the most important details are "when does my stock package fully vest" and "What is my departure compensation package look like" (i.e. the golden parachute)

So I was lazy a year ago, and decided to buy a Cyberpower computer. Decided to drop some $$$ and get a 3090 card, i9-109something X processor, blah blah you all know the drill.

About a week ago I start to have drive errors, and of course it's my boot drive with windows on it. It's a 512 SSD, generic something, and I also have a 2TB HD.

Today I open the system up to replace the SSD, and begin the PITA of a fresh win 10 install, and well look at this...there is no SSD, nor a 2TB HD, but rather a single 4TB HD. Those fuckers partitioned this brick to look like 2 drives, and I even partitioned it myself later, but windows shows that it is 2 separate drives, and sizes them as 512GB and 2TB...who knows where the other 1.5TB are.

I tore my whole system apart, to a bare case looking for my missing SSD. Well at least it's spotless clean now...

Yeah Fuck not building your own system.

Hold the fucking phone. You couldn't tell the difference between booting and running Windows off a SSD vs HDD?

You don’t have to pay them though, right? Legit question as I have no idea despite frequently being the person asked to fill out their paperwork (which I personally only do for legit reasons but I’m sure it’s easily abused other places)

In Massachusetts, it's sort of like unemployment insurance. The company and the employee contribute to the fund so you do get paid. But if I recall that is the exception. Most states it's unpaid, but you can use accrued vacation time during the FMLA.

Kind of- 3% of all of the work force salaries go into an FMLA fund. So, in fact, we are paying MORE for his FMLA than his FMLA... It's Communism.

On my jimmies run again today-- at the bank because the ATM is dispensing 2 $50 bills for a $100 withdrawal. I have no use for that denomination. So I get online to swap it for usable currency. In front of me is the parent of the High School Football Team something-or-other. She has $2,718.57 to deposit for the team. It's all singles and quarters and shit. She and the one teller on are rolling them and using the drug-dealer-dollar-bill-counter to determine that she actually has $2,718.57.

I gave up and left with my two fifties after about 8 minutes of watching that circus show.

Triple rustled: WTF woman, you can't roll your coins or wrap your dollar bills yourself? #2 Why the fuck is the bank teller helping/doing it for her (and getting all confused and lost in the process)? #3 Why the fifties in the ATM? Seriously...

F the retarded world we live in.

That reminds me of something that rustles my jimmies at least once a week.

You go into the UPS/Post Office with your packages ready to ship like a goddam normal human being. Theres a line, which is fine because how long can it take for those few people to drop off their packages?

then you realize, not one of these motherfuckers is actually ready to ship their packages. One of them isnt even in a box yet. The other 3, not one of those mongoloids has a shipping label on their boxes. They are literally planning on standing in line and having the whole conversation with the cashier about each box, "do you have any fragile items in this box?" "oh gee how much does that cost? is there a cheaper shipping option?"

Its like if you were to get in line in the grocery store and find out that none one of the people in line in front of you is actually ready to check out -- they're still shopping, but they're just calling dibs on a space in line while they do it.

Fuck you, get out of the fucking way until your box is ready to ship.

I don't know where else to put this, so here goes.

I was at the hardware store this morning. Came out to find a car parked directly behind my truck, and a guy gets out and looks shifty and runs and gets under my truck. I immediately think he's trying to steal my catalytic converter. I had the presence of mind to take a picture of the car, and then sprinted to where the guy was under the truck. The car took off, and the guy wasn't paying attention. I wound up and kicked him as hard as I possibly could right in the nuts. He tried to sit up, and blasted his face on the underside of the truck. I then proceeded to pull a pistol out of his waist band.

Now, a good thing happened. There was an off duty cop who witnessed the whole thing. He had cops there in minutes, and everything was taken care of. He hadn't had enough time to actually start cutting, so my truck is okay. The bastard said that he wanted to press assault charges, and the off duty cop who witnessed it said "I saw the whole thing. He was startled and smashed his own face into the bottom of the truck for no reason. I'll say that in court."

Police took my information, but told me they wouldn't need to contact me about this, and I should have no fear about him suing me, they'd make sure of that.

They also caught the guy driving the car, which had several converters in it. They've been trying to get these guys for a while it seems. They've been going around hardware and grocery stores stealing the converters and not getting caught.

While I'm super glad I got to kick a bad guy in the nuts, I'm also super rustled that this shit happens.

This shit is happening more and more. Our country club just sent out an email with a photo of masked kids on unmarked dirt bikes casing out parking lot. (Good thing I drive a Honda they're after the Porsches and Ferraris I imagine). It's insane that kids can be told to do something by an adult, and not get in trouble if they're caught because they're young. Also apparently CT state now only allows cops to follow for like 500 yards before letting suspects go. So they just ditch into a yard on their dirtbike or quad and get off scott free.
