His words refute the words spoken by the man who is the foundation of his religion.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Acts 4:12
Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

The meme truly does encompass all non-Christians acting like they can use our religion as a bludgeon against us when they don't know the very basic tenets of it.
“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”—Leviticus 19:34 (NIV)

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.—Hebrews 13:1-2 (NIV)

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Lol, quotes scripture while aggressively, almost intentionally, missing the point.

At no point does Jesus suggest that we sacrifice the safety and well-being of our family nor the sovereignty of our nation or the very existence of our people in order to generally be nice to the poor and less fortunate. It's especially hilarious that you do it while ignoring that the US and it's people have given more charity to the third world and refugees then every other nation in the history of the world combined. Supporting politicians who want to stop the egregious, corrupt outflow of money out of our country and communities in order to take care of our own first is a more principled, biblical stance then the dead commie pope ever took on the poor or refugees.

None of those combat what I quoted you on. I don't give a shit about helping the poor, poor, pitiful poor. I care that the goddamn Pope said that there were other ways to God; specifically against the religious teachings he was the goddamn living avatar of. You are wrong here and being retarded and no amount of typing questions into ChatGPT is going to make you understand the nuances of Christianity because you are a proud, ignorant, atheist.

What did you expect him to say at an open conference to all religions

"Lol, all you infidels are burning in hell! Repent and convert!!!" like some Televangelist who snorts lines of coke off a hooker's tits after he tricks suckers out of their money?

But hey, who needs context, right?

He gave a diplomatic answer that was basically "there is only one god, even if you see that god differently. but there are different paths to god". It's like the common example people point out at the hypocrisy of religion of "if someone lives a good and moral life, but doesn't follow Jesus during life, what then?". He seemed to be extending an olive branch that basically said you might still find your way to god on that path. Plus if you look at Revelations (which is sort of fanfictiony, but whatever), they even let the Jewish people get the option of converting after Jesus appears, so the bible itself provides a lore related bit where you can still accept Jesus at the last second and be in the club.

Man, it is so mean of us to expect the literal pinnacle of Catholicism to remain on message and not directly refute the teachings of Christ. If being "diplomatic" at a conference requires such, then maybe the mother fucking pope just shouldn't attend, huh? Seems like an easy thing to do rather then dismiss the founding principles of the faith you represent.

Christianity has a long history of looking at other faiths, saying "hey, Christianity is similar! You can keep some of your stuff as long as it gets repackaged as Christianity themed", and it being successful at getting more followers. Outside the Orthodox sects, you're all celebrating various European pagan holidays that got repackaged and repurposed to be about Jesus because it was a successful strategy to enable growth.

Ah yes, incorporating pagan holidays and minor practices to enable growth over hundreds of years is definitely very similar to the pope saying we all worship the same God and thereby specifically denying the divinity of Christ.

Yes. You are arguing something that no one else in the thread was talking about as if it refuted something I said. That's true.

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all worship the same God in terms of a specific deity - they differ in other "main characters" in terms of divine pantheon.

Logically speaking, you are faced with the following:

1) All religions are correct - there are actually different gods/pantheons/etc. This technically would be a paradox since some religions refute the existence of other gods, meaning they could not all be 100% valid in all things

2) All religions are wrong, either in whole or in part.

3) One religion got it right and the hundreds of others throughout the history of humanity are wrong, although they all claim to be the "correct" religion and it is impossible to prove

#2 is the only logical conclusion given there is no way to evidence that one religion fits the bill for #3. Even if you claim your faith is all the evidence you need that your religion is "the one", other people's faith is all they need to evidence their own religion is "the one" and there is no way to evidence either.

Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all worship the same god and that is why the religions are so similar and their cultures and countries have all ended up in roughly the same place!

I don't even know if atheists are just trolls or if you don't understand how insanely retarded your arguments become when you delve only a bit beneath the condescending "all religions are stupid and wrong".

Nobody gives a shit that you have atheistically "logic"ed your way into smugly determining that no religions are correct and so they are all wrong. We just find it immensely funny that you can only do so in the comfort and leisure provided by a civilization built entirely on the backs of people of only one of those religions that was oh so wrong and that atheists never built a single culture or society of any significance because when they come together they form a sort of nihilistic, faggot Voltron that makes them stop reproducing and eventually just kill themselves when they realize their lives are meaningless.

Which ones do that? Christianity doesnt. By extension I'm pretty sure Judaism doesnt either, so Islam shouldnt.

Maybe some Asian religion? I know less about them.
