He is 3y 9mo but has been playing for several months it seems like. He has gotten to the point where he can turn the Wii U on and find the game he wants on Nintendoland or start Disney Infinity but he has trouble navigating all the menu screens. Some of the Nintendoland party games are particularly good like Luigi's Mansion and Mario Chase because it mostly involves 2-3 buttons.

Hell he even plays Super Smash Bros with us but we switch to timed so he can play the whole match because he tends to fall off a lot.

Same deal here... We have a 7 and a 3 year old and they can pretty much play anything. It's amazing what our 3 year old can do on Mario Kart and NintendoLand. I've heard the new MarioParty is going to be awesome. (So my 7 yr old tells me lol)

Trying to 3 star the 150CC is a bitch, i cant even get 3 star on any circuit. I get close, but something stupid will happen on the 3rd lap. Blue shelled followed by 2 more red's and i go from first to 5 in the last half of the 3rd lap. lol

It feels almost rigged at times lol

Maybe I'm not doing it right but is grabbing in Smash terrible? It seems to have such a short range, easily avoidable, does hardly anything and when you miss has a long ass animation afterwards.

Grabbing is very character-dependent. Luigi/Mario/Dr. Mario and characters with ranged grabs (Zero Suit Samus, Link) tend to be best. It's not a big part of my game regardless. I prefer characters with better dashing and smash attacks.

EDIT: Ok, I can delete that post because it's fixed now.

Anyway, I went over to Gamestop today to look for NintendoLand. They're doing a buy 2 used, get 1 free, so I ended up getting a few others.

1.) NintendoLand
2.) The LEGO Movie Game
3.) Wii Party U

I figured those were games that my almost 3 year old daughter would love.

So how is the actual function of the Wii U controller? Do most games utilize it in some capacity? I don't really care for being able to play on it alone as I live by myself, but I would hope it's not just a blank screen all the time that never gets used.

Also, is it still pretty fun if I'm going to playing solo most of the time? I mean, I'll play online quite a bit if there's the option, but probably not much local multiplayer.

The solo games are great, but most offer multi player to spice it up even more.

Super Mario 3D World
Pikmin 3
Wonderful 101
Smash Bro's U

Hell, the new Zelda game, which seems more like an MMO than anything else, is also a solo player game. You'll be fine.

SMG2 worth the $10? Does it force me to wave the Wiimote around like a flamer or can I play it with a WiiU pro/tablet?

was excited to see the Metroid prime trio to come to the wii store...but then remembered it would most likely be wii controller aim controls... and that's just crap...the first prime's controls where great...no need for stupid "point and aim" nonsense!

Yeah if I can't play SMG2 on the tablet its a no-go for me. My wife ties up that TV too much for me to be able to play it too much without tablet support.

You are high - the wiimote/nunchuk combo is the best FPS control scheme I've ever used - it was way more accurate than even mouse/keyboard.

ManOwarr are you still playing MH3 on Wii U? If I wanted to try playing this again it may be cool to play with someone who knows what they are doing.

No I haven't played in a year probably. You could play that game forever getting the best gear and trying out all the weapons. but I killed all the bosses and it would be tough to get back into now.

I will be getting the N3DS and MH4 though - didn't like MH3 on the 3DS but the new 3DS has a 2nd stick so don't need to buy the circle pad, should be easier to control.
