Light characters are considerably shittier. They tend to have better acceleration so it helps when you get hit by items and stuff, but players online are so much better that you're usually closer together in a pack when racing. Light characters get bounced around so often that it's not worth the trade off. I'm Bowser in a lighter car so I get a little more acceleration. But weight is extremely important.

It's an awesome game. Very underrated, arguably better than the Mario games on Wii U (and those are great, too) in terms of challenge and art and music.

Hyrule Warriors is pretty awesome. Been playing the heck out of that lately.

Honestly all of the recent marios and donkey kongs have played pretty much the same to me. Difference in setting and minor difference in mechanics, but exact same formula

I mean they are platformers, they are going to be the same "formula". But Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario 3D World on Wii U are not really the same.

But there's been like 2 Mario platformers since then (3D World and New Super Mario Bros U), and they aren't the same.

Have yet to get my hands on DK, but 3D world is pretty awesome for me. I'm not sure what else you could do add to this type of game unless you added online play of some sort. Or maybe allow players to create their own levels and allow others to play them. That alone would add endless hours of gameplay and it wouldn't be that difficult as the level design is quite simple.

Awesome. Tropical freeze was on my must buy list, and DKC1 is easily in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Ill be picking both up.

*Edit* Damn, DK:TF is awesome. I'm just a couple hours in but it's pure, unbridled fun. Love dat music!

After you're done with it watch the speed run they did at AGQD this year. The game looks insanely fun to speed run.

I really want that. It's probably next on my list, or if I see it on sale somewhere. The Captain Toad levels in Super Mario World U were some of the best parts of the game.

I must be getting old, because damned if I'm not finding DK:TF hard as hell. I'm not even talking about the collectible stuff; just beating some of the levels the first time through has me dying 5 - 10 times in some cases. Still super fun, and I'm enjoying the challenge, but damn. I remember blowing through old school platformers like nothing.

*Edit* Also, Smash Bros. U is only $49 on Amazon at the moment, so I just ordered that. Looking forward to getting my brawl on.

DKTF wasn't easy by any means I felt. Shit I don't think I've even beaten the ice world in NSMBU.

There was 1 jump that I lost around 20-30 lives to. Maybe it was because I was playing co-op, but holy shit was it hard. And that's why Donkey Kong is a god tier platformer

Been playing Rayman Legends as of late and it's pretty awesome. The levels where you run with the music are a blast. Never played any of the previous versions so the extra paintings are nice too.

I'm really enjoying Toad. It's fun and slightly challenging. It's a nice "take it easy" kind of game.

I'm currently in the 2nd world, playing as the female toad. Trying to 3 star everything is easy enough. It's doing the extra check mark task that can be difficult at times.
