I do not understand why this game is under NDA at this point.
They probably want to protect their product from bad PR : lifting Non-Disclosure Agreement on asix-months-from-releaseMMO lacking content past level 36 while most anticipated features (warplots, raids, etc) aren't even in beta yet wouldn't qualify as a good move, development wise.

The subject would be: answer to relevant questions: yay or nay?
Fluff stuff is fluff stuff, nobody gives a damn about fluff here.

I for once, would be interested to know if I can have a Recount style addon: I can't enjoy multiplayer games where I can pat myself on the back for a job well done or where I can measure my progress. Last time I linked a recount in chat was during Karazhan when it was relevant, so I'd say it's "for personal use only", but I still care massively about UI modding and UI tools that don't ship with the game. I would like of course to have this in game and not as an external application.

I would like to know if they have any mentoring, downscaling, upscaling etc in the game currently or planned for release. GW2 really spoiled me in this regard but being able to take any character and play with a friend regardless of our levels is something I would hate to miss. Now obviously this isnt going to be the game that removes levels but what are they doing to let people that arent at the same stage of progress do content together without the stronger one ruining the fun for both. (unless you have fun with one-shotting grey cons, I guess)

I told you what to expect from the masterminds behind pirates of the burning sea early in the thread

What's funny is 40 player raids the mmo crowd of today has nowhere near the intestinal fortitude to make that system happen again. Look at WoW they are allowing guilds to flex the raid size from 10 to 25 people because they understand how hard it is for the general population to keep a roster going. These dudes want to throw spammy action combat at you then tell you to get 40 semi functional people together to raid... come on man. The raid content will have to be so dumbed down to make a system like that work. This is all assuming you have something semi compelling in place after lvl 36 or whatever. But hey hoverboards and witty videos are neat just not worth my money.

it would work if you simply got rid of the fixed number raid size and allowed noobs to zerg that shit with 100 players again. Then you could design shit for roughly 40 players again.

No one cares if they zerg it down with 100, especially with weekly resetting instances. it just means it will take them three times the time to gear out their noob zerg.

It's so hard to set up a roster of that size because if you're just a little short, no raid is happening because of the mental block of MUST HAVE 40.. and if you have too high a reserve, people will burn out over having to reserve their evening for raiding, except they don't get to raid.

WoW in beta didn't have content past 30 or 35 at this point in development. Hunters and paladins didn't even have talents until less than 2 months before launch.

I don't really care, WoW was a great game and I'd gladly play it over again, but now especially with a new combat system. Plus from what I've seen of the game I'm like one of 6 people that like the art style.

I feel Wildstar has been in beta for a lot longer than wow was when it was still capped at 37 or whatever it was. That was beta 2 that's when I joined, and while I'm sure F&F had been going for a while, beta itself was still fairly new. Wildstar beta has been going for a while I think. That said completely irrelevant if they're not planning on releasing first quarter.

I know WoW was in post-NDA beta for 8 month, and NDA alpha/beta for about 5 months, that's about all I remember.

I completely agree with this. Let people zerg down raids at the expense of a lower chance to collect drops.

A longer beta isnt going to hurt as long as they use it to fine-tune the engine, iterate gameplay systems and add more content at all levels of play especially at the level cap. If it is a long beta because they are trashing and rebuilding once per month, that'd be a problem and result in last minute makeshift designs that will break quickly after release (D3 comes to mind). So which is it with Wildstar?

It's going to have to coordinate with them releasing "raid" information officially. So right now, I think I'm going to try to get them to go over all the classes once the Engineer is officially revealed.
