Consider your virtue signaled.I have not seen a single one of the ten best picture nominees and have not heard of four of them.
It was more a commentary on how out of touch I am becoming with the mainstream but I guess we should never let an opportunity to be a weasel go to waste.Consider your virtue signaled.
american fiction is out on VOD/torrents today, i assume its a "i'm black ya'll" kinda movie so not really that interested but that just leaves Poor Things as the only big oscar movie not streaming at home yet
You guys need to just not decide what a movie will be like without watching it lol. Cough EEAAO cough.
This movie is the opposite of I'm black y'all. It's pretty much roasting liberal faggots who want them to be I'm black y'all.
Most can't even bother to watch the trailer which would have made it obvious as well. Which begs the question of why post about the VOD release of a film you're not even willing to watch the trailer for...You guys need to just not decide what a movie will be like without watching it lol. Cough EEAAO cough.

First Oscar's in a while that didn't feel all affirmative action. Godzilla special effects. Hayao Miyazaki for animated and Nolan sweepingI thought it was cool Godzilla won best special effects
It's that time again, faggots.
Here's what I've seen so far and how I rank them:
1. Poor Things - Yorgos Lanthimos is prob in the top three best directors of the past decade. Imagine a Tim Burton dark comedy fantasy only Tim Burton still makes good movies (shots fired?). It's hilarious, it's whimsical, it's delicious. Dafoe, Ruffalo, and Stone _should_ all get awards for their work. Go see if you can handle all the boobs and dongs.
2. Oppenheimer - You know what this is. Just a masterful work by one of the best.
3. The Holdovers - I heard someone describe this movie as "cozy" and I agree. It's like a warm blanket on a cold day. It feels good and you'll feel good watching it. It also looks like it was filmed in the 70s.
4. Killers of the Flower Moon - It's long. It's heartbreaking. I wish it was written a little differently??? I dunno. I'll give it a "pretty dang good". Lily Gladstone nailed it and is awesome and deserves Best Actress for her role (though if I had my Davey-way I'd give one to Emma Stone in Poor Things too)
5. Barbie - Most have seen. It's just good ole fun here. Prob not a best picture but I'd watch again.
6. Anatomy of a Fall - Great acting and interesting story. Not something I'd watch again but I appreciate that it's here.
I'm basically saying go see Poor Things
Almost that time again! Where best picture qualifications require you to meet diversity standards or they will not let you be nominated!
Anyways. Here's my top movies I saw from 2024. Note that some came out in 2023 in festivals but went to theatre in 2024.

Honourable mentions to:
Furiosa
Alien Romulus
Deadpool and Wolverine
Kinds of Kindness
Longlegs
Poor Things is on my list. I sorta hate-watched the other two weird movies by that director so I might as well watch that one too.
For a minute I had Killers of the Flower Moon mixed up with Where the Crawdads Sing, which I've been trying to remember the name of for a while. WTCS is really good and the lead actress is fuckin' gorgeous throughout the movie. Especially the way she hunts and fishes and fends for herself while wearing tight jean shorts. Like a movie version of that one southern Tiktok girl that everyone likes, who catches fish.
Anyway just wanted to mention WTCS and how much I liked that movie.
Looks like a shitty bunch of movies for 2024. Should probably give Best Picture to Nosferatu and call it a day. Longlegs is on my list. Love Lies Bleeding looks sexy, is it actually sexy?
