Seen it happen to uninfected systems dozens of times through (hand picked) MS updates alone, at work, on a closed network with no access to the internet and USB policies that prevent use of media.

So, yeah, it definitely happens.

Edge (Spartan) is cool, and fast, and uses less memory than Chrome (not exactly hard) but doesn't have extensions yet. It's supposed to support most existing Chrome extensions, but that's not enabled yet.

Edge is great for Twitch streams, uses about 2/3rds the CPU as Chrome doing the same stream.

IMO Windows 10, all in all is a worthy upgrade and really a good foundation like 8 was. The phase out / non-primary view metro is a good call of course :)

As with everything, get to know your group policy editor lol - I think once most enterprise establishments have a few months of testing GP changes etc. can set a nice one and move forward with rollout - I know we skipped 8, so we most likely will start to phase in 10.

The media creation downloader has both the in-place update or the media creation.

If you want a genuine activation from a genuine windows 7 or 8 copy, you can use the downloader to force the upgrade, and then use the downloader again to create full install media or use the recovery settings menu to perform a reset of the machine if you want to be slightly less thorough.

Windows automatically installed all the other nvidia crap (3d vision, HD audio for HDMI that I don't use) but not PhysX which was weird.

The most jarring thing so far is this fucking white title bar color. Why in the hell would you make that the default, and then worse, something that you can't change?

Edit: Found the workaround for it. That's a giant pain in the ass for something that shouldn't be the default to begin with.
