You have good dental insurance. When I had mine done it cost $1400 and the insurance picked up $250 of it.
Eh, it's an estimate of the first time using this Medicare C plan I just signed on for - I wouldn't be shocked if the estimate is drastically off when the bill comes. Some of the non-cleaning categories are in the 80-100% range though. I know dental implants (since that's an eventual worry with my genetic shit - second D in the acronym is for Dental and dentures sound like they'd be obnoxious) are even covered at 60% with it, part of why I made sure to opt for it instead of a standalone Delta or equivalent plan.

It covers your check ups and cleanings. That's about it.

What in the fuck is the point of insurance that shitty?
Well, having shitty insurance is probably better than having no insurance at all. Not by much perhaps, but if you were to have a gum infection then you'd have more options besides coming here and starting a thread about not being able to afford dental surgery before disappearing.

Though garlic is pretty cheap.

I like how everyone ignores the article I linked which proves that garlic is stronger than any man made antibiotic and is killing infections that have beaten all known man made antibiotics. But ya keep ignoring facts and continue talking shit. You'll go far in life.

I made some chili the other day and it had a shitload of garlic in it. I had like two big bowls of this chili. The next day, I adjusted my sweaty nuts and my hand stunk of garlic. Just an FYI.

Says the guy whose crowning achievements are having been 'good' at online poker and allegedly HP kiting in Dreadlands on an EMU server for a game that's been dead for years.

Seriously Ern. Why don't you lie down for a bit and re-evaluate. Then Lumie can dip his balls in a 3 cheese garlic sauce and give you a taste of his molto bella teabagging cancer cure.

I bet bleach is even more effective. Why not start your day with a tall 8 ounce glass every morning to really clean out your colon and make sure God's Own Factory is running smooth as a cherub's behind.

Hey Lumie, doctor suspects I have IBS. Should I just shove garlic up my ass to fix this?

You meanthis article?

This article states that allicin (which is found in garlic) is effective in treating a specific infection (MRSA) that antibiotics were ineffective against. It doesn't say allicin is stronger, is says it worked where other antibiotics failed. It doesn't even begin to imply that allicin works against all infections or is superior to antibiotics in every case. It's also very much worth noting that allicin treatments are administered through pills and creams, and not through sucking on raw garlic.

Did you read the article, or did you stop at the headline?

Here's the official studypresumably referred to at the end of the article. From the study:

Allicin is the main antibacterial agent isolated from garlic, but natural extracts can be unstable. In this study, a new, stable, aqueous extract of allicin (extracted from garlic) is tested on 30 clinical isolates of MRSA that show a range of susceptibilities to mupirocin.
Doesn't sound to me like a slice of raw garlic on a tooth will have the same effect as a new, stable, aqueous extract of allicin. Don't get me wrong, garlic is a highly beneficial plant that everybody should eat regularly, but it's far from being the miracle drug you seem to believe it is.

If you dig a little deeper the places that recommend it even don't recommend it for INGESTION anyhow. Wound dressing, soaps, skin treatment, and mucus membranes.

From what they say ingestion over 25g a day of garlic hits levels considered toxic.

And a full head (more than 25g) is what's needed for treating those.

PS pretty sure mucipron or whatever its called that they use for MRSA is an antibiotic, just a narrow one not broad spectrum like most.
