Very little is changed while the game is actually being played, most teams play the same offensive and defensive systems on a weekly basis and then usually make subtle changes specific to that weeks opponent during the days of training leading up to the game. You will see coaches attempt tactical changes if something is going really wrong or the opponent has a surprise which is causing issues but in most cases nothing is done until half time. Was wondering this earlier in the week, but typically how are 'plays' or strategies relayed in from the side lines in soccer? Are the coaches, coordinators, or whomever using hand signals or do they just yell at the players as they run by and the captain or #1 guy run the formation on the field?
