In WoT, tier 10 games are pure fucking cancer. It is the tier the majority of top players play in, and it is also where most of the absurdly broken tanks reside. The problem now is that the bulk of the average and average+ skill players have left the game, so you get matches that are nearly always lopsided in terms of player skills, and almost every match ends in a complete blowout.
This is zero fun.
Their match maker places tier 8/9/10 tanks in the same queue. Sometimes you get a mix of tier 8-10 tanks, sometimes tier 9-10, sometime tier 10 only. These days, tier 8 tanks do not belong in that queue. The majority of tier 8 tanks have low alpha, no armor, and they are going up against tanks they cannot pen and can end them in a single clip or a single shot. Blowouts are also normal in this bracket. By blowout, I mean 1-14, 2-13, 3-12.
It was common for me to do the equivalent damage or more than the rest of the team combined. One a team of 15 players, most of them did maybe a single shot of damage or none at all. This leads to blowouts after blowout. It is no fun when you are on either side of the blowout.
Wargaming can't fix it now, because so few people are left playing it. What they should have done long ago is to have two skill queues. 1 for average and above players, and 1 queue for below average and new players. Limit tier 9 and 10 tanks to their own matchups, and make tier 8 the only tier it matches against. They can't fix it because then they'd have to fill all the tiers with bots, and WG's bots aren't any good.
Basically, it's a dead game.
Yeah count me in as one of those players that left.
Like I said earlier we had a decent sized group of us, and then a few of us ended up joining up pretty decent plan at some point doing the clan wars. I had plenty of tier 10s, and just typically get the new line researched whenever they came out.
We started playing I guess maybe one year into the game's release, and this was back when the matchmaking was real wild. You could roll up on the is3 and be driving a little turd tank, but it was fun and scary because you'd be yelling on ventrilo what do we do!
I just know the last time we all fired it up, tier 10 was just abysmal. I relieved though enjoyed playing the tier 10 Japanese heavy and was pretty good with it, and then they nerfed the hell out of HE.
I still watch quickie baby on occasions just to kind of see the temperature of the game, but at this point I don't know if I'll ever really go back. It's a shame though because we used to have so much fun on gaming night. Think my absolute best match was 12 kills in a Cromwell, which is one of my most played and fun tanks especially at that tier. The tier 8 Russian medium was probably my other favorite tank but then it started getting out classes completely.
Hell my buddy and I used to just running BT2s just because they were fun matches. When we were learning the game we decided to race up the Russian light line, finally got to the tier 4 and 5, and what I was waiting for the match to start and then Rush in and hunt down artillery back when you can have a retardant amount of artillery on a team.
I know the last time I played it though I'm not near as good as I used to be, I know everybody's slinging gold and knowing weak spots and how to play certain tanks doesn't seem to really matter.
It's like
Slaanesh69
was saying though, I'm one of those types of people that was always grinding up every line to try to get every tank, got to catch them all, and it probably isn't a good idea for me to pick up War thunder as much as I want to give it a shot.
I just missed the good old days of World of tanks before the HD patch. It seemed like armor actually meant something, but now you got those crazy tanks like the chieftain and that Russian 279 that are just nuts, and I don't even know what other crazy stuff they've added and like a year. I just know that Chinese rocket premium tank was completely broken.
I wonder how much my account will be worth if I actually tried to sell it on some site?
