Lol yeah because Blizzard is known for not overlaying multiple versions of their classic game on top of each other with simultaneous releases within a week of each other.

EQ is still somehow going and profitable with a fresh server or two once a year and WoW brought Holly Longdale on board. New shit has an automatic appeal that old shit and continuing shit lacks. Do each of these classic servers have shit you can buy in the store? Shit people would buy fresh every time?

They have been releasing a mount / pet / boost to prior xp cap on expansion release since she joined. Lets people level with their friends on expansion release. Other then that its the usual transfer/racechange/token from retail. None of it is required like the EQ bag / XP pots. The big thing they did at some point was ban GDKP in SoD which I assume was a test to see how it would go, and something that I hope they add to the regular classic servers come Mists.

Wow has a classic locked server already. Sod just opened BWL. Theres no reason to launch a new classic server right now. They launched SoM a shortly after the first Classic servers hit TBC. They let that server run its cycle then closed it down and launched SoD. They won’t do a new server until SoD is over. It makes zero sense. They also don’t do cash shop in the classic servers. This isn’t EQ.
