Lot of streamers and Reddit posts about quitting SoD and going for this now. People love the fresh starts 🤷‍♂️
Agree with liking fresh starts. I do as well. But I’d wager that streamers is a very minuscule percentage of the total player base and they’re also probably just chasing the new thing for content and views.

In either case, it’s a shame there seems to be zero thought or effort going into the new classic.

The more I talk to the homies and remember what *actual* classic is like the more baffling this decision seems to me.

Actual classic fucking sucks. There's like 5 total viable specs, infinite consumable grinds, 80+ hour XP treadmills with massive quest deserts. Then at actual endgame it's what, an infinite honor grind while you wait for Naxx?

Pass.

Season of Mastery included a huge list of QoL improvements

Cheaper mounts, faster exp, meeting stones that actually summon people, random chance for black lotus while herb collecting, no buff/debuff limit, no world buffs in raid zones and a few other things. The appeal of Classic Classic is lost on me outside of the hardcore nuts getting their own dedicated server. I get why they're jazzed but they're also insane. I'm happy they're happy.

I'm sure this one is going to have a big launch and do fine overall but as it goes through it's release schedule it's going to burn out whatever surplus nostalgia the playerbase still has for #nochanges style classic rulesets. Leveling is slow, the game is super solved, viable class/specs are incredibly narrow and you're expected to show up each time to no fail content with the full boat of consumables and world buffs.

I hope they at least keep the low gold cost for respecing in. So stupid to have to farm so much gold just to do PvE or PvP.

Its just stupid not to have faster xp, qol changes like summon stones, dual spec etc from the very start. This isnt 2004 where WoW and MMOs are still a unique universe to themselves and were all 15-25.

Only people who dont want all that are no life sadist who jerk off to burning ants with magnifying glasses.

With out the threat of PVP these areas will be full of little bitches farming.
I had fun doing this as a hunter on PVE as I was easily tagging everything, if they didn't move on, they would flag pvp usually. Happened a lot in Plaguelands camps too.

Was fun, but i realize it's not the normal way it plays out. If you bring a rogue guildy who just watching netflix or something, even more fun.

Every classic player I know wants the grind, the slow leveling, etc.. Dual spec and removal of world buffs/not allowing them in raids are the 2 biggest QoL changes I've seen people ask for.

I'll probably be rolling PvP Alliance with some people, NE hunter.

I can't even recall, were there dungeon chests in Classic? I don't think I cared if they did. I know Vanilla yes.

I remember it being worthwhile to farm some in TBC, I want to say Bird Halls was my favourite, I can't recall Vanilla. Was nerfed hard somewhere in TBC IIRC.

Human Mace rogue was fun once upon a time, so many tears. That could have been a TBC thing too, I forget.
