You're judging the games life based on reddit? Are you stupid? Honest question.

MoP is like GoD? Again, are you stupid? Mass exodus of more than half of the games population has left? Oh, right. It was a good try, though. Go back to preaching about the next wow killer, we are all dying for one.
I don't make this shit up man. The numbers don't lie. I'm not fucking Ms. Cleo so I can't tell you what the future holds but based on history I'm gonna say it won't ever beat a previous expansion again. It's finally on it's decline and it will go faster and faster like a fucking avalanche until one day you're buying pets and shit out of a cash shop. Oh wait...

Not even close. That was a well written reply but that doesn't make it any less full of shit.

Majority of the subs are from Asia? Yeah I agree, but they are also the majority of the loss. It swings both ways, meaning the loss is barely even a threat to the life of the game. You can't deny that.

No one is going to dispute the fact that Warcraft is old. But it will plateau at about 7mil and hover around that for a very long time. I'm willing to bet the updated character models and a major patch having to do with the Burning Legion will bring the game back up to 9mil+. Quote me on that.

WoW capped out at ~12 million subscribers, it is down to 7.7 million, what kind of magical fanboy math are you performing?

9+ million next expansion! Which really means just 2 million more Asians sitting in an internet cafe and maybe 200,000 westerners that only play until new level cap and quit again.

What are you talking about? Did you even read what I wrote? Holy shit.

Yeah because purchasable cosmetic items are a blizzard only thing. What an insightful example. Is that it?

You are really grasping at straws here. I mean, it is entertaining watching you make stuff up to make a point. At this point there is no need to argue, what could possible make you froth at the mouth so much for a game you clearly never liked that is of a genre that you again don't like?

Do you really want to compare WoW to shitty f2p models of gaming? Do you think that is going to help your cause right now? Really?

Who is comparing? just making a point. Straws man, straws. You've got nothing at this point.

What is this? You've lost your touch Sutekh. Don't reply unless you have something to add to the conversation.

Come on bro, you should know the "reverse troll girl" isn't going to work on me. You were caught in the web of your fanboy jizz, face the facts.

Where is the sub number for WoW now? From that graph it looks like Cata caused a drop in player numbers but since MoP only releases at the end of the graph it's influence isnt visible there. How has the last year treated WoW sub numbers since MoP release (havent followed much)?

1.3m lost in first quarter of 2013, putting them at 8.3m at the time. I think, but I'm not 100% positive, the number is closer to 7.7m worldwide.

I think you can admit that WoW is dying at this point without having to resort all the way to "Blizzard makes nothing but shit and they raped my dog."

During Cataclysm I was still in denial. I thought they had it in them to bring it back up to 12mil+ with Pandaland, but they didn't, and that was their last chance.

Comparing MoP to GoD is still silly though. EQ was 5 years old and had a mass exodus of players moving over to WoW. WoW was 8 years old and had/has a steadily growing leak of players who just aren't playing anymore. There's no huge vertical dropoff here, no competitor that stole Blizzard's thunder in one masterful stroke. Which also means the decline isn't going to stop any time soon. Slow down, maybe, but my guess is we'll see it down to 5 mil during the next expansion's tail, if not this one.

They're still getting new players in in significant numbers. And yes a lot of those are trial accounts (my 9 year old daughter and her class mates are trying it out at the moment). It wouldn't surprise me at all if over half the population have left, so numbers are being propped up by new players - most of whom don't stick around long term, btw. My friends have been avid players since vanilla. Our guild has over 120 solid members. They've all fallen away this last six months. There's only two or three left playing.

They're implementing massive server merges. Most of the people you see when you are playing the game are from different servers using this cross realm BS. Time to smell the coffee.

I actually think a lot of the stuff they put in MoP is fun, but it's not MMO fun it's more like Farmville/random Facebook game fun that I'd play on my phone while on the toilet. Gearing new characters up is just like that.

Meh. I still enjoy the game. That graph looks like a standard product cycle. Nearly 9 years at this point is a long time to maintain 1 million plus players. Would they love to have 12 million plus? Sure, but I don't think there's a panic at Blizz over WoW though.

Sure I do. The panic is over Titan and their undeniable fucking up of said project.

Very few products will have a steady or continuous increase in users after 8-9 years.

This argument is funny because every other company's games don't even come halfway up the first bar on that chart and never have. MoP was a great expansion but Warcraft has been a boredom in 1-2 months game since TBC.

So 7+ million players is a dead game? Learn to math.

When WoW drops under 1 million subs it's going to be a dying game. When it has less than 10,000 subs it will be dead.

You really are fucking stupid. Do you think even half those 7 million subs are westerners? You do realize eastern players don't pay anywhere near the same amount to play this game right? Stop being so fucking dumb.
