You mean Y'shaarj found a patsy to corrupt because of it. Totally obvious who is running the show here from behind the curtain.
Caveat that I haven't finished Klaxxi, but my impression is that Garrosh is running this show. Yshaarj is dead a la YS. Garrosh is just using his bits to fight. Just my opinion.

Correct. Garrosh is batshit insane and wants to wipe out anyone who is not an Orc. Y'shaarjisdead, until the heart absorbs the waters of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Then it is half-alive? Awakening. Something along those lines, which is why the Klaxxi come to Orgrimmar, they want to take it back. At least this is what I have gleamed from the PTR files/scattered lore.

Even before the water immersion, Y'shaarj (through the corrupted goblin?) mentions being merely asleep. Dead or not, that doesn't really scream "gone for good, out of the picture" to me.

Regarding finishing Klaxxi (don't click if you don't want to know before finishing yourself):

The most you get for finishing it is basically Lore and the spiffy purple. You get taken under Klaxxi'vess and lectured about how Y'shaarj was the mantid's deity, the first mention of the Old God in the first place, and how the Titans "slew" him (I use that word loosely with Old Gods), and then the hint that Y'shaarj is the source of the Sha infestation throughout the Pandaria region of Azeroth. Also how if the Old Gods return, the mantid will side with them, and that you earned that warning for your help. This is why it's no real surprise the Paragons are under Orgrimmar, plus the Journal entry for them as a boss fight (they followed Y'shaarj's apparent whispers back to beneath Orgrimmar).

You can find it on Youtube easily enough by now.

Is Thrall sitting in Garrosh's reception room waiting to scold him? He was supposed be heading for Orgr since the start of 5.3 and Garrosh isn't even there.

Resubbed for a month, cause honestly, theres nothing to play atm in the mmo sphere.

Logged on my 3 or 4 toons. Walked around a bit and felt no attachment to any of them and seriously they revamped talents / skills so many times by now i had no fuckin idea what anything did. Logged off. Created a monk cause ive yet to play one. Hit annimations are so off i couldnt stand it. Its like am trying to beat down air itself. No feeling of impact whatsoever. 15$ down the drain lol. God damn did this game lost its soul somewhere along the way.

Next time i have an urge to sub again, ill just walk down the street and give the 15 to my local hobo.

To be fair, monks start off pretty bland. They get better once you start hitting the 30s and on up.

Is it sad that I would still pay 10-15$ a month for well tuned classic and TBC progression servers without all the pay to win and shit talents they've implemented?

Every few months Blizzard sends out a free week or two of playtime, and that generally is enough for me.

Anytime I get the urge to play besides those times, I just visit the official forums. It's got all the drama with none of the grind or cost. win/win.

I do agree Blizz can tell a hell of a story, but the game doesn't really hold me anymore. It's not just WOW, but any of the daily, whack a mole, quest hub, themepark games all are snoozeres anymore. Fortunately when I wax nostalgic I can hop into a free one and get bored without whipping out a credit card.

I'm curious what Blizz's official announcement will be.

Rombo has a valid point, I feel the same way about both "hero" classes. Neither one feels good to play, they very much lack the visceral fun factor involved in the animations+sounds combo that other melee classes enjoy.

ff14 reborn is open beta for the next week, you can try that out instead of giving blizz $15. my brother is a massive final fantasy nerd so we're gonna try it together this weekend, he is on ps3 and i'm using my pc (apparently they share servers). I tried it for around 2 hours today so I can kick his ass but it left me with little desire to even hit the beta cap of 20.

I know I'm pretty much done with MMOs, everyone is circle-jerking about how awesome FF14 is on reddit/pa/here/etc and all I can think is "man... this is one shitty game, I have done all of this stuff hundreds of times, can you at least show me something new please..."

Seriously? Monk beats the shit out of other melee classes as far as animations/sounds are concerned, IMO. Pun intended. Btw, use Glyph of Jab if you are an original race. At least with gnomes, their regular weapon animations suck and the hand2hand animations are a far better improvement (especially when the animations get triggered into the combo attack animations).

Well, if that's your opinion then you just don't understand what we mean I guess, which is fine. The animations are ok, but the sounds are atrocious and there is no feeling of "oomph" that creates that visceral ass-kicking feeling you get from say, an Arms warrior chopping the fuck out of things and hearing that nice sound followed by a "sploot" sound from deep wounds/crits or whatever. So great.

I gotta disagree on dks too. Death strike and obliterate both feel very visceral to me.

Don't want to shit up the wow thread with ffxiv stuff, but it does feel a lot like how wow vanilla felt. Both in the sense of exploring a new world, but also just in the basic combat mechanics. I don't need to read tooltips for an hour just to figure out how my class works at level 10. Honestly, I think that change marked the biggest decline for me in WoW... easy to learn, hard to master... What used to be level 50 gameplay mechanics that you'd only be doing after weeks of repetition is no thrown into players hands within the first 2 hours of the game. Sometimes it's nice just to press 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3,4,1,2,1,2 for a while.

Don't give me bullshit that games need to be complicated... MMOs should be social experiences, not whack-a-mole hotbar action games.
