So if a guy was going to re-roll a new class on the guild server, which specs would be the most likely to pick up a pity spot on cleared raids every blue moon?

I'd prefer to level a Hunter, Warlock, Mage, Shaman, or Druid since I've never maxed any of those characters.

Druids are one of the easiest classes to play, and have remained useful in at least one role every tier for the past few expansions. You'll mow through quests and leveling like a champ.

Comparing EQ raids to WoW raids (especially later expansions) is kinda like comparing MoreNetz to FoH. Yeah, the same people were there for the most part, but one of them was Mickey fucking Mouse compared to the other. Also, by way of this comparison, whoever's running EQ nowadays is clearly pretending to be a chick.

Oh, shit, TSM4 has been posted to Curse/Twitch. Okay, guess I'm upgrading now.

raid plebs complaining about addons or no addons- you ever try to auction house and become the fattest goblin in the west with the DEFAULT ui?

If so, you're a fucking psychopath

It's really solid. Been using for 2 or so months now and been loving it, still setting up all my own groups though cause I'm obsessive. Sheyrah will probably update her lists for BFA I imagine

But is life worth living without the AH app?

The only thing the AH app was good for was people not knowing what ilvl or wf/tf on their raid BOEs selling them to me for 40k cheaper

also posting herbs while pooping

Not using add-ons in wow is like buying a modern cellphone and not installing any aps. Aka being a God damn moron. I bet you still walk to work, and hand sow your own clothes, too. If you want to be successful in wow, add-ons are required, otherwise continue playing EQ like a crayon eating, window licking, too retarded to spell your own name dumbass, then go buy a flip phone and stick it up your ass.

Your avatar suits you. I use addons, I own a modern phone with apps, and I haven't played EQ in 15yrs.

Also using no add-ons in classic wow won't be a huge impact since most of the people who will play it already done the content.

Sheyrah just put out a good beginning video on it. Honestly with TSM4 you can get by on the complete default settings if you really want. She will be releasing more videos soon that go a bit more in depth.

I haven't played WoW in a manner that was even vaguely "serious" since The Burning Crusade. I wasn't even max level until the I think the third month of Legion? I was just fucking around a couple hours a week tops while maintaining a subscription. I kinda want to give this a go, had already bought the expansion, boosted a character, did some normal dungeons, and then did some heroic dungeons and I can already see that I need a host of macros and addons to actually play the character. Just trying to click back and forth between mobs and players so I can apply PW:S and such while also applying Shadow Word: Pain is a real problem. With EQ2 I could just target the tank and if I cast a beneficial spell it went onto them and if I cast a detrimental spell it went onto their target. If I had a monster target detrimental spells went to them and beneficial spells to their target. I guess here I need some kind of macro to achieve what I consider basic functionality? I saw one that will just stick Shadow Word : Pain on a legal target whenever I press it and that sounds pretty good but looking at the thing I could never figure out how to have made it myself. One of the big mechanics I'm working with is Atonement. Buff is applied when I cast some beneficial spells, heals those targets when I do spell damage, very straight forward. I'm going to need something to track that because with just the base UI that information is absent. Who has what Atonements of what durations? No idea.

This is like, super basic stuff of the class that I was working with the first day I took the character in to some group content and I already need help. I assume this is just how the game is? Blizzard has offloaded the UI stuff to the community and I'd just be an idiot to make the game harder for myself? I like game play quite a bit but I feel like just playing the game as a normal derp with no mods/macros/addons I'm just fighting with the interface to do the things I want to do. I've also put some time in reading through the info on IcyVeins.

I feel like I've got to put in this huge amount of time that is separate from playing to learn wtf I'm doing and that just playing the game would not reveal that information to me. As basically an outsider it's all very strange to me for the game to be like this. It's not anywhere near as immediately intimidating as Path of Exile was/is but it feels like there's a substantial hurdle for someone like me who is interested in not sucking.

Disc priest is probably the worst for this since you have to deal with atonement. Itried playing a disc priest and had the same experience as you. But I think most classes can be played very easily and effectively at a casual level without the need for add-ons.

Literally anything with the board guild. We have melee hunters this go around, even! :D

Lol how many times had fartbox kicked off the add-on debate with that same line? Did most of you guys forget or just not play with him?

Noodle also loves EQ so hard.

Damn, was pretty set on Fury Warrior for BFA but I dusted off an old Horde Paladin to see the pre-patch from their point of view and kinda felt in love with the new Ret.
Plus, I actually like tanking as a Paladin while Prot Warr is meh.

I play Disc Priest and I'm also coming back after years, I'm figuring the same thing out. Here is where I'm at.

Every damage spell is the same macro (from memory, hope it's right, may be a [harm] tag in there too):
#showtooltip
/targettarget spellname

Then I just target the tank, cast PWS then do my damage rotation which all target the tank's target. Refresh PWS every 15 seconds.
If I need to do AOE healing, I cast Power Word: Radiance then continue my damage rotation. I don't cast PWS on everyone individually it's too tedious, so I don't need to track it.

I've solo healed heroics effortlessly and also done raidfinder Argus the Unmaker. Item level 200, I've been playing for under a week.

An alternatve to consider is instead macroing the heal spells the same way and target the enemy you are dpsing, then you PWS whatever the enemy targets.

So the last patch made killing shit in the Chromie scenario 10x easier. Basically kill the bosses in two hits now and can probably finish it without even bothering to get upgrades!
