Arena destroyed any interest I had in pvp. Also the magnanimous lack of differentiation between classes that used to exist before it was homogenized into oblivion. A good, coordinated team, objective based, is a lot more fun (for me) than spinning around pillars, or running down a bridge - it's basically trying to take the isolated encounters that happen in a BG and boil it down. I may not have an asston of first hand experience in arena, but I have played it enough to make a personal assessment, and I have watched a lot of the Blizzcon tournaments. The majority of what exists in arena pvp comes down to a) luck of your meta vs the other team's, b) clutch play. The latter is fun and interesting, but isn't what actually happens to win most matches. It's mostly bad meta match-ups, or one team being lucky enough not to fuck up once or twice.
The thing is, the entire game is like 90% PVE, and it's just annoying af that 3v3's tend to dictate any fun and interesting aspects of classes in all other respects of the game. I would be all in favor of splitting the game in two, while being able to share transmogs/mounts or whatever, but skills/talents/gear weren't tied together or shared. What has become flat and homogeneous in the interest of "fair pvp", has taken a pretty big toll on fun and interesting pve.
