If Azshara wasn't a retard she would have just used the tidestone to destroy the fleet, like she did, then wait until they establish their bases and pull the plug on it. Flooding all those dumbasses with it.

the whole point is that we have been empowering the heart of azeroth forever and it's what's needed to unlock the seal to break n'zoth out of prison. She kept us alive and WE were the ones to release him like a bunch of stupid cuck idiots but hey I got loot

I wonder if we can join N'zoth's team - I mean, he seems to really have his shit together.

Of course we will end up with 9.0 N’Zoth has somehow buttfucked Azeroth and we get a whole new sundering of the world along with a level squish, stat squish, ability pruning, removed factions, and new GCD additions. With ultraforging with the chance of turning any item in game into a legendary version.

I just hope he wrecks the absolute shit out of everything.

The only savior is for us to all move to the Emerald Dream, it's the only version of Azeroth that is kept pure as if no humanoids ever evolved and it's just all nature and titans and dragons. Except.. now there's void in it too.

Isn't she keeping the prison of the old god locked up? Why are we bothering to kill her in the first place?

We are killing Azshara because : technically our fleets are stuck in Nazjatar, the convenient portal to Boralus/Dazar'alor is only for gameplay reasons and only powerful mages like Jaina can teleport out (to rescue Baine for instance) so we have to confront her to get out of the trap she lured us into.

She didn't wipe us out immediatley (and has been teasing us with naga invasions for a long while) because she needs the Heart of Azeroth to shatter the chains keeping N'zoth imprisoned.

She's not keeping him locked, she's -supposed- to be working to release him but she has clearly been delaying it as much as she could over the millenia (as implied by her teasing and taunting aimed at N'zoth's shadowy tentacles in the intro cinematic).

In the finale cinematic, she is defeated but the contraption she used along with our Heart of Azeroth reaches its full power and breaks the chains, freeing N'zoth. He reaches for Azshara and "rescues" her (though from her facial expression I have a feeling she immediately realizes he's going to pay her back for all those years she made him linger).

So yeah, probably N'yalotha in 8.3, and I expect a full-fledged Black Empire 9.0 with several previous Old Gods returning.

This will be exciting for the 800 people left playing the game. I logged in tonight and Mechagon was deserted except for 2 other players. Two weeks in to 8.2, and people are already giving up.

Honestly, I was expecting this to happen by now. I always got the impression that us "killing" the Old Gods was actually returning them to their base "necrophotic"* form. Meaning they could just remanifest after a while.

* This is the term the Ulduar Watcher uses when mentioning Yogg-Saron and Old Gods when you zone in.

Whoever wasn’t in the new raid, was out in Nazjatar itself. The new world boss drops i415+ gear, including weapons, so it was packed.

This is the kind of shit that really takes the RPG out of MMORPG if ya know what I mean. Keeping the world consistent and open is absolutely critical to this kind of thing.

Actually I don't quite get what you mean.. :emoji_confused:

Don't you think it's a bit more RPG to NOT have portals and teleport pads all over the place that go across the world or to other planets instantly for everyone in a medieval fantasy setting? While we as players are able to teleport everywhere for practical reasons, it's always been the intent to limit teleportation to a select few invidivuals in the lore of the world. So it makes sense that now that our fleet and us (the champions of our factions) have been lured into an ambush in Nazjatar, that we'd be fighting the naga and their queen to get back out.

I mean, it's totally fine if you disagree but I'd like to know your point of view on that because it's usually the other way around when I read complaints on RPG-feel in MMOs.

Noticed I was 'gifted' a 3 day access to explore the new patch (has to be activated and expires end of the month). I might check it out this weekend since I am intrigued by Mechagon but from what I see here I doubt I will be suckered into a sub.

Got it also, I'll give use it before it expires but dont see myself resubbing, enjoying FFXIV for the time being.

It may be my own nerd preferences here but I dislike wedging in this kind of episodic content patch that undermines the consistency of the game world. I can of course make some allowances for gameplay reasons but there comes a point where it breaks any immersion I might enjoy.

Okay so the fleet and shit is trapped in Naz'Jatar via diabolical plans. Yet I can return to Orgrimmar or wherever at my convenience. All the while the questlines and whatever garbage complain about being trapped an unable to escape and all that. Divorcing that as a gameplay mechanic over the setting itself is just lame to me. Take a step back to WOTLK where yeah, you can go chill in Dalaran and go out to Icecrown at your convenience without making the gameworld seem overly silly. WOW is LOLore and all but that's a might step into jumping (many) shark(s) in my dumbass opinion.

A much more coherent 8.2 plot line would have been to "kill" Azshara but it doesn't actually kill her, it just frees her from N'zoth's mind control so she runs away and takes over the land of Azshara and its some nice 9.0 content.

Instead we get TMNT Crang "I lured you here to kill you... oh no I'm dead" nonsense.

That cinematic is really basic. Villian is saved by bigger bad to be a boss again. OK...

The question now is if the Nyalotha zone is 8.3 or it's a bigger deal in 9.0

They really should have dropped a hint or had a twist.

I think although it wasn't as grand as it could've been, Argus was really well done and pretty well-received. I wouldn't be surprised if they were hoping something similar would save the expansion
