It's just so fucking stupid. The prize pool is 660k which means they took in 2.64 million dollars with those promotional sales. That's great. By choosing to cut open the e-sports goose and get all their golden eggs at once they've guaranteed themselves a much shittier sale next year.

Mostly becuase Blizzard just sucks at eSports. But you're right, it's probably not even worth putting up $500K for the prize pool.

I bet they make a decent chunk on e-sports. Every idiot in an m plus pug believes they are running a world first Waycrest +7. It would probably be hard for even them to quantify the number of people who sub because of the interest in e-sports. I don't really feel bad for the players. They are making bank because of their noteriety.

The introduction of Mythic + sold the shit out of me. I love doing dungeons far more than I like doing raids in WoW, and if I can get the same tier loot from a high difficulty dungeon, then I wouldnt do raids at all. Which Im sure was a "problem" to them and something that they had to "fix." God forbid we arent required to play dance dance revolution with 19 other people and wipe on a boss 300 times because we cant get 20 people to land on the right foot instead of the left foot at the same exact second. But now they've nerfed the rewards, so its only a distraction. Then they made it into an Esport which requires players to abuse the shit out of the systems in the game within legal limit in order to skip the majority of content so that they can complete the dungeon in three minutes and thirty eight seconds. I've totally started to become aware that in their mind, its ok to sacrifice the fun in the game in order to make the game more difficult/challenging, which is bullshit.

The new m+ mechanic is actually the first time I've been interested in BFA m+ since launch. It's still at the end of the day only a race against a clock which gets boring and is why I'm not pushing 100+ grifts in diablo because it gets boring after a while.
The only thing m+ will have to offer me truly in the future is actual rewards from it. Why m+ doesn't have mounts, titles, mogs, etc associated with completing high keys is beyond me. I have absolutely no reason to do anything higher than a 10 and I'm just simply not going to. I only do m+ with friends so I don't give a shit about a raider.io score anymore. Maybe that'll change in the future but I doubt it.
But yeah, without rewards I don't care. Personally I'd rather have an infinite scaling non-timed dungeon. If you want to be a fucking weirdo and only be able to complete the dungeon because you have lust on every single pull then that's your choice, go for clearing your +30. Classic also makes me miss mega dungeons.

Like tower of the dead or something in other games. It just irks me that to complete the higher tiers you have to skip trash mobs and cheese bosses to do it the most efficient way possible. Whats the point of having the trash mobs there if they intend for us to skip them? idfk, I've just really grown to hate a lot of the design decisions that the Blizzard team has made to WoW and it grinds my gears cause I'm so passively invested in the stupid game.

I'd enjoy something like, killing side events/bosses/etc to make the endboss weaker. Less side activities you clear, the harder it is, and the more loot you're given. The hardcore of the hardcore could do a run straight to last boss, and the casual can take an hour to clear, and everyone is rewarded.
