honestly more exciting than every single real sport

except maybe hockey cause they beat the shit out of each other every once in a while for fun

I'm not much into the sports ball, but I would rather watch an hour of Women's Soccer, Downhill Skiing, Curling, Baseball, Golf, or Billiards, than watch an hour of anyone play a video game, let alone a guild wiping to the same boss, over and over again.

yeah I'm not ranking it above any of my favorite normal sports (special shout out for realizing hockey is god tier), but I was into watching them progress, and nice to have their comms and Max's coaching to see how they were making changes and figuring the fight out.

I'm just tired of hearing about people not understanding watching other people play video games. We get it, you're 56 years old and you had a ranger in EQ

I'm just tired of hearing about people saying that playing video games is some kinda sport. We get it, you're a 29 year old soy boy and you had a furry in Second Life

honestly it is pretty weird that people would talk about the videogame in the videogame thread

It's an e-sport! The "e" stands for "electronic" so it's an electronic sport. There's only three real sports anyway. Carlin handled this all decades ago.

I personally dont get how anyone can be remotely excited with how unbalanced and buggy games like WoW are.

So was there any different cinematic or plot conclusion from the end of the Mythic version of the raid?

We had talked about some of that last summer.

I don't know what Limit did from there to here but now that North America pulled out a world first and they did it with a coach and addon guy outside of the raid that's going to be the new normal. If these races continue (and people give a fuck) there may be a time when you've got an entire coaching staff, tech team, analysists, etc. all in addition to the actual players.

edit - another link to that Josh one, looks like it's gone

If these races continue (and people give a fuck)

It has become the most viewed WoW event with hundred of thousand of viewers during the progress, millions of viewing hours, with a professionnal level production and it's happening every ~6 months, it's utterly clear it's gonna keep happening. It brings WoW to the spotlight outside of its community, I'm noticing people who don't play WoW at all discussing it everywhere, from the top poopsock gamer to the most profane casual, curious about the game.

I mean it's Twitch money + endorsements for the guilds and huge "free" advertising for Blizzard. Unless Blizzard do something awful about that (which you may say, could happen), there's absolutely no way this is gonna stop. It's a win-win for everyone involved. I understand when people here say "who cares" or shit on the event because BFA is BFbad but there's a lot of potential for this stuff. The playerbase count is low right now but don't forget 8.1 progress numbers.
