I don't watch Twitch but watched some Amongold clips on YT and he doesn't seem actively malicious towards the devs at all. He's pretty genuine in talking about what he likes and doesn't like. Someone in your target audience giving you their honest feedback should be one of the most valuable thing you can get if you are running a business, but these twitter pronouns all take it personally.

Mist is on to something, it's a whole bunch of fresh-out-of-college kids running the show there now and they are just not emotionally mature enough to handle criticism (or design game systems that don't suck apparently, I don't play live WoW but it all sounds terrible)

Liberalism ruins everything it touches. If a bunch of pussy hungry manchildren can make great games then we need more studios full of pussy hungry manchildren.

Oddly from his last stream, he does actually give a fuck, but in a way that tells these idiots that they're wrong and to fuck off and that he isn't going to just sit there and take that shit. Prior to him streaming FF14, I'd never watched any of his content or seen any videos or clips with him and I just assumed he was some dumbfuck troll constantly causing shit and trying to make peoples' lives miserable. After watching him? Nowhere near true. His persona is ridiculous but I've been very entertained watching him. Outside of that /spit thing for store mounts I've haven't seem him do anything that I would consider "toxic," routinely calls out the idiots in his community for being stupid, and overall just seems like a pretty reasonable dude, but is also going to speak his mind with no fucks given.
This is the same thing which happened with Pewdiepie.

1) Adult internet users assume the big internet personality is a cringe dumbass and ignores them.

2) Blue checkmarks try to cancel them because they are jealous of their following and they question the narrative.

3) Adult internet users go to the source and check their content to get in on the drama. But their content is actually really good.

4) Big internet personality doubles their fanbase. Blue check marks self destruct.

Asmongold seems to have learned the lessons of Pewdiepie who did initially try to apologise before doing the right thing.

SJWism is all about positive affirmation no matter what unless you go against the narrative, then you are fair game to try and suicide. It's insane.

Never apologize to the mob, how many times has that been repeated and proven. Pewdiepie is surprisingly based and redpilled.

Why is Asmongold guilty of harassment? For telling wow devs to fix their game?

Somehow Asmongold is responsible for the WoW community for being toxic when in actuality it's the devs that have fostered the environment. lol

Ah, I see, he's a white male after all.

Does this represent the modern wow devs?

I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Jen Oneal, though. Why make a qualified woman studio-head a co-leader with a problematic man? Just let her lead.
Obviously they only wanted the 'problematic man' but had to add on a woman so they wouldn't get in trouble.

The Vaxxed does not approve of Mike Ybarra.

So, disregarding snowflake tweet there, the guy that just got nominated co-lead after all that shitshow is casually tweeting about going to dinner with Kilgore, the guy that was fired from being Morhaime's successor because of his problematic attitude?

Do these guy have absolutely no clues about optics at all?

Yeah, because everyone else just caved in after a while. They didn't expect pushback, so now they don't know what to do, except repeat and double down.

I can smell the next drama:

View attachment 366395

Keep in mind, this pre-dates the Furor situation and began when he released his letter to Blizzard regarding SL. The entire WoW community interlocked fingers on reddit and cited him as the biggest problem with WoW.

He was accused of promoting toxicity immediately by the greater WoW community as a whole, even the developer harassment accusations are not new. Those accusations were made as soon as he released his SL letter. Literally within 12 hours of the letter being posted, he was accused of promoting harassment of devs. I remember quite a few FOHers didn't understand the dynamic, likely not being familiar with Asmongold at all.

This pre-dates FF14 by a full month? Maybe more.

Read the letter to get a basis, and then view his on-stream comments immediately after the letter was released and you'd understand the backlash and why hes accused of promoting harassment. This is critical to understanding why normies and casuals believe he's promoting harassment. It's a misunderstanding and it's all about him taking a tone that isn't politically correct.

"talk about it"

"keep talking about it" *indicating inflection in tone of voice*

"just keep talking about it"

"talk about it like WoD until we get Legion"

"talk more about it" *aggressive/angry*

"post about it. keep talking about it"

"endless talk"

It was all tone of voice in the aftermath of his letter.
