They would just remove order halls from the game lmao.I think on /vg/ someone was asking that if they add a class, does that mean they have to go back and add an order hall to Legion?
More mounts, obvs.Should there just not be hard content in the game?
How else do you make a game interesting for people who've played for a month vs people who've played it for over a decade?
If you are trying to make a mmo that is successful long term then you don’t worry much about making things hard for people who have played for a decade. The type of thinking that says you should is why wow killed its community and is in its death throes.Should there just not be hard content in the game?

THere's nothing wrong with challenging content. It can't be the focus of the game, though. WoW currently has nothing to do for casuals outside of really long and pointless grinds. If you are trying to make a mmo that is successful long term then you don’t worry much about making things hard for people who have played for a decade. Mythic raiding does massive damage to the social side of the game. Things are so hard it promotes anti social behavior instead of just playing with who showed up like it was in classic or wotlk.
When it was Hakkar hard mode or like ulduar hard modes it was ok cause it was still overall much more casual raids but with a few rewards for being great. Now mythic is by definition the focus of the game.THere's nothing wrong with challenging content. It can't be the focus of the game, though. The entire point of WoW is to gear up your character. They have removed that as an option for everyone except hardcore players. Sure, you can get some loot here and there with really long and pointless rep grinds, but that gets old really fast. It isn't even fun to level alts. Bad story, dumb covenants, no loot...what's the point? The core issue that WoW has is the notion that you are always competing to have the coolest thingy. There are tons of games, even multiplayer games, where there's no notion of someone getting validated with a doo-dad. Focus on making the actual gameplay fun and not on making the brass ring shinier.

True, but WoW devs view housing and things of that nature with disdain. No leet gamer would ever want to do any of that! That is a long term weakness of the game. You need alternative means of "advancement" besides +gooderer gear.
There's 4 difficulty levels of raids, like 22+ effective difficulty levels of dungeons, an extensive PvP ladder, battlegrounds, plus all the bullshit you have to do to unlock all the seasonal bullshit you need to progress your character.THere's nothing wrong with challenging content. The game isn't fun because it doesn't encourage you to play with your friends, which is what MMOs are all about. Instead, if you are a good player, it encourages you to abandon your friends and find people of similar skill levels to make meaningful progression, mmos always did this to some extent but WoW is now in the far extreme. If you aren't good then like you said it offers 5 million different avenues to advance but between constant gear resets and free stuff none of it feels meaningful and you can't build a mid tier community because the game is so muddled. There's 4 difficulty levels of raids, like 22+ effective difficulty levels of dungeons, an extensive PvP ladder, battlegrounds, plus all the bullshit you have to do to unlock all the seasonal bullshit you need to progress your character.
WoW isn't bad because there isn't enough to do; it's bad because there's a bunch of unfun shit you're forced to do before you can enjoy the content you want.
