Decent game?Sooooooooooo, looked through that press release twice, didn't see any mention of actually making a decent fucking game. I am sure though it will have fruit bowls, tranny taruen, and no tits.
I really think Blizzard is making a case for worst managed company in the history of American business.Blizzard Entertainment is excited to announce Jessica Martinez as our first Vice President, Head of Culture. This comes as part of our ongoing initiative to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture where people at every level can learn, grow, and bring their most creative selves to their work.
Jessica and the Blizzard leadership team will be responsible for growing and implementing our culture strategy, ensuring alignment across all teams and functions, and revamping learning and talent development programs. Excited to champion change within the gaming industry, Jessica says “When you create a people-first environment where teams feel safe, valued, and work together toward a shared purpose, everyone thrives–the employees, the players, and the business.” To help achieve this, Jessica will lead the learning and development team, while working closely with communications, events, and each of the franchise and functional leaders.
Jessica joins Blizzard after more than 14 years leading strategy, communications, operations and employee experience at the Walt Disney Company, where she served as Chief of Staff and key strategic advisor to both the Chief Security Officer and the Chief Technology & Digital Officer for Disney Parks & Resorts. Beyond spearheading fundamental organizational change including leading the security integration for the 21st Century Fox acquisition, Jessica was best known for creating a values-driven culture that connected global teams and celebrated diversity.
Jessica is also an avid skier, an active supporter of animal rescues, and a Little League Baseball Coach.
Welcome to the team, Jessica!
> negative comments that target another player's identity, including aspects like ability
You're going to play with bad players and we'll ban you if you complain that they suck
The shitters are going to weaponize this. Trolls are going to shit up runs so they can report people who bitch. By trying to lower toxicity they are going to amplify it.
I'd bet they're trying to move to a general "TOS" more like the FF14 one. So in this case, very unlikely to be actual disabilities. The FF14 players have internalized being "nice" over close to a decade- where as the wow players have cultivated toxicity over the years. So yeah, Arbitrary likely has the right idea here. Enforcing that on the WoW playerbase is gonna be hilarious.Ability in that context might not mean "git gud n00b". In the context of that TOS language, it is probably referring to disabilities a person may have
If someone says they are playing with a controller in my mythic+ group, is that a disability that would let me kick them?
It's a game. They should actually make a social credit score and place nice people with nice people and toxic people with toxic people. Make it transparent how it works.
Otherwise it's going to be tranny CMs and tranny programmed bots banning people they don't like.
Another one, you just haven't been paying attention. Chris Metzen was replaced by someone from Disney when he left years ago.Just when shit couldn't possibly get gayer they bring in a Disney exec.
To be fair, the most toxic players are the ones trying to be like their idols from Twitch/Youtube/MDI or whatever, and feel they themselves are great players but are held back by the other players. Basically, Dunning-Kruger in action.Instead of fixing game design and what is essentially match making, they just want to ignore/punish the discontent.
Matchmake new and nice players together, then toxic players together. To be fair, the most toxic players are the ones trying to be like their idols from Twitch/Youtube/MDI or whatever, and feel they themselves are great players but are held back by the other players. Basically, Dunning-Kruger in action.
I seriously don't know how you would build a matchmaking system around that. It would probably turn out like the "eternal bronze hell" from LoL, but new players are going to be tossed into that cesspool. That's not a good strategy to attract and maintain new players.
