Kromog took us far too many wipes last night. Some of my deaths were me absolutely failing to cooldown Slam properly along with other avoidable damage, but overall the impression I got from the raid was that I was too squishy which is perplexing to me since the KRSI stat seems to contraindicate that.

Anyone willing to flip through these logs, look at the kill shot and maybe a wipe or two and see if I'm making any obvious mistakes?

I can't open the log at work but are you running out on every slam? Warriors are in the unique position where they have a lot of movement abilities. Otherwise cooldowns on Slam are absolutely essential.

Yea, my deaths to slam were 2/3 stacks and missing an internal/not calling for external. Tanking Kromog while drunk not recommended. One pull I didn't even realize my weapon had broke =/

That being said, some of my deaths happened in between slam simply from melee which (to my knowledge) I shouldn't be cooldowning.

His melee does hit hard, but as long as the two tanks are close enough together the damage shouldn't be out of control. It's a fairly healing-intensive fight, even on normal. We had to take two healers and move them close to the tanks and the other went off to heal dps/ranged. I've done normal/heroic and it seems like one of those fights where stacking healers is recommended.

Someone on forums says not to cooldown Slam, just leap out / charge back in and use cooldowns for 2+ stacks in between slam. Never even thought of that but it sounds like a good idea.

I usually use a runetap on Slams because DK's are OP in that department, or if I'm feeling lazy and want to stand in I will use IBF - but in general I don't use any hard cooldowns on Slam. I also use our OP AMS on his breath.

Edit: But as a DK i can only move out like 3 feet before I get hit with slam

It's one of the figths where anger management actually finds a use. Glyph heroic leap + anger management = leap up every slam, profit.

He does hit like a fucking truck regardless once you have 2+ stacks.

is there another exp potion outside the one from your garrison you can buy without exalted rep and such?

anyone got a good guide on garrisons? basically looking for something to hold my hand and take me through what I need to do in order to get the missions and be successful, ive pretty much ignored my garrison.

Also, anyone that's leveled a new character to 60 where did you go for the dark portal quest? I got finished in blasted lands and the orc that usually gives out the quest dosent have it, just some other quest.

Master Plan addon for missions. I think now you just go to Org, take the portal to Hellfire and start questing - you may be able to get a feeder off of the warchief command board.

You can only transmog items into items your class can use, and that use the same animations. Axe, mace, and swords all have identical swing animations. Fist weapons and daggers have unique animations so can only transmog to others of their same type.

Don't think so. If you haven't done so, grab 75 coins from Lunar Festival (last day), buy robe/tunic/BP heirloom and upgrade to 100 so that you have +10%. If you've got cash buy the rest of the heirlooms.

Guide: follow the quest lines to grab as many followers you can, do Garrison Resources missions first if you're leveling fast, gold missions/personal XP first if you're levelling slowly, follower XP misssions first in-between.

Build whatever profession building you have as first small (pick one if you have two crafting prof), or ench. if you have only gathering prof.

When you get the quest to upgrade your garrison to 2, pick Lumberyard if you're leveling fast (now that it's 30 GR per WO, it's good) as you'll need lots of GR, pick Inn if you're leveling slow (to get more followers that you're not getting from quests). Pick the second prof / ench. / keep empty.

When you're 92, open up your mine, upgrade it, then go immediately to Gorgrond, do the two outpost quest lines up to the scenario to get an upgrade to your medium building. That unlocks most trees you'll encounter for Lumberyard, or you can start recruiting followers to fill holes in your roster, depending.

When you're 94, go immediately to Talador, follow your outpost quest line up to the Ogre boss to get an upgrade to your barracks, you'll get to pick a follower for additional DPS/tanking. Grab the BE/Draenei chick near Auchindoun NE entrance, as that's the quickest follower you have.

Now, coast toward 100. When get into Arak, pick the Brewery as your outpost, there's now absolutely no good reason for the Smuggler den unless for some reason you want to spend gold on an overpriced bag. When offered the quest to go to Sparksprocket (??? I think), go there, pick the plans for recycling building. Use your outpost upgrade to get the level 2 for that building. If you already have two smalls, wait, otherwise, start building.

At 100, upgrade your garrison as soon as permit, build/upgrade your recycling center to 3 as soon as possible. Pick second medium and second large building to fit your tastes (I tend to suggest Bunker/Warmill for second large). Upgrade Barracks to 3 as soon as possible to expand your follower roster to 25.

Now for the followers: Master Plan is absolutely mandatory. It will let you build teams quickly, and make sending out followers. You want to collect as many weapon/armor tokens to upgrade them from 600 for ilvl 615 gear, 615 for 630 gear, 630 for 645 epic gear, 645 for highmaul raid gear, 660 for BRF raid gear, which is why the recycling center and bunker/warmill come into play. The only problem of bunker/warmill is that you need to spend GR on it, so if you leveled quickly, don't pick that one because you're still spending lots of GR to upgrade your garrison.

Master Plan will tell you what followers are most likely to be good at raid missions. You need to upgrade 3 to 645 to unlock them, so upgrade the 3 that appear in the most missions, check which mission you actually get, and upgrade the rest. Master Plan will also tell you what followers have the same abilities counter as another, so you can reroll one of the two (using a full reroll, or just an ability reroll).

WA2 Externals:

I created a WeakAura to track raid cooldowns and tank externals. : wow
http://i.imgur.com/isTho5n.png

My guild's been having issues with proper external calling. Traditionally we say stuff like: ("Eidro needs an external.") but half the time I end up getting 2-3 which is a waste. DPS never call for externals since they don't know whats available. This should help immensely; now we can be big boys and phrase it: ("[druid name], give Eidro Ironbark.") which is likely what we were supposed to be doing all along.

Thanks for this im already 100 and like I said I more or less neglected my garrison lvling up so I guess I got a lot of backtracking to do because I only have a few 100s and they suck so completing the missions for their upgrades isn't going so well.

Question on tanking blackhand. During phase 2 do you just pull him sort of in the center and pointed where you want to go up? Is that all tanks really need to do? I got fixated and assume I just kite it until someone else kills it?

For phase 3(didn't make it), the other tank wanted me to take each bomb. Am I right in assuming I would hold the boss until I got the bomb debuff, explode in my area and he would tank and then get smashed? Or is it something that I taunt on quickly to get the bomb debuff?

If you're 100, then doing the quests that unlock followers is very quick. The additional advantage (if you've got the cash) is that doing each outpost questline unlocks the other followers at the vendor in your city hall, so you get double supply. Look in your garrison report window (the horde/alliance symbol next to your minimap) and it will tell you on the follower tab which followers you can get without waiting a week at the Inn, and where to look for them. You can easily get 25 quickly, and getting all those 25 up to 100+epic is your main task. The follower tab tells you which counters those followers start with, and getting at least 2 of each counter is very useful.

Then you get into the long phase where you level those followers. At low levels, it's probably more useful if they have professions to stick them into a prof building (or mine) to get XP from work orders, once they're no longer red to those phat 100 XP missions, you can send them on missions. Garden is not as good as the rest, because you barely get enough seeds to fill your work orders for the day (patch didn't fix that), but if you've got enough seeds for a day of WO, it's good to stick your sub 98 herbalist there.

It starts to speed up once you've got like 3-4 epic level 100 followers and can reliably carry the rest thru high level missions.

Use retraining on followers that don't seem to have good traits and have duplicate counters (Master Plan lists at the end of the follower abilities which followers have the same pair of counters). Racial traits that you have a lot of (usually orcs for horde, draenei for alliance), High Stamina are good, Snow/Desert are currently useless, that kind of thing.

But your first priority is to get the recycling building from Arak if you don't have it. You don't need a pre-quest, just head to the Pinchwhistle Gearworks, and it takes 20mn tops. Get that recycler to max, and you'll start getting follower upgrades in a regular stream.

Checklist:
- Get 25 followers asap. Sub-tasks:
* Get 20 followers
* Get level 3 barracks (which might not be unlocked, you need 50 patrol missions across your account - alts help)
* Get last 5 followers
- Get Salvage Yard to level 3 (need to salvage useless stuff before it unlocks, alas)
- Meanwhile, send followers in order of "follower XP" from Master Plan if you're not playing for long, send in order of "xp/hour" if you're playing and can resend them on missions before you leave for the day.
- With a good enough stock of upgrades, raise your 3 "most likely" followers from Master Plan missions of interest in Highmaul to 645, see which combo you get, you have one week to raise the rest or get an extra +15 ilvl on the followers to guarantee your mission
- Sock up more upgrades during the two weeks between raid missions
- Raise your 3 "most likely" followers for missions of interest in BRF to 660, repeat as above.
- PROFIT!
