No, that's the line of bullshit they fed us. The real reason was because you could get around shitty itemization and hit thresholds faster to beat bosses. It made all gear a possible upgrade and the ability to have less waste. Reforging was an extremly powerful tool for non mouth breathers.-
I think their intentions were good; they tried to bring back the excitement of getting new loot and equipping it on the spot. They didn't quite hit their mark though, unfortunately.

I say bring back reforging, but let players do it with no prerequisites (reforge mount, must visit capital city, etc). They could make it a consumable item that stacks to 100 that you have to keep in your bags, you know, like gems, re-spec books, and enchant scrolls. The only reason not to implement a reforge system like that would be, as you say, because they didn't want players to become optimal too quickly.

Reforging was great, what sucked was having to reforge multiple slots around the hit cap every time you got a new piece of gear. Since hit% is gone reforging would be amazing to have right now. Bleeding edge raiders would still reforge their whole set all the time to meet stat breakpoints and such, but most of us would just like to turn our shitty haste into multistrike, etc.

It was nice while it lasted!

20 Months worth of WoW Tokens bought with just Garrison gold.
I think it strange they they do not want players to feel as though they need to log in. The truth is, they do not want players who have the time to level up 10 characters to get so far ahead of those that do not, that the ones who are part timers just move on. They make the most money off the players who play a couple of hours a week.

The garrison should have been account based and not character based. That would have solved a few of the problems this expansion has created. Honestly though, if they wanted to retain players perhaps they could add content. It feels like every expansion is generating less and less content that is worth even doing.

Worlds of Warcraft 2 with a design overhaul would work, but it would also cost a lot of money.

garrison should have been guild based but what they said was so goddamn retarded. like "oh no, it's not fun if there's content the officers control". Fuck that give me a guild hub to chill in for my second life fix

Also when's 6.2???

I cannot say I am to surprised I don't think they imagined people would just grind garrison stuff to make 2-3k gold a day in 5 minutes running alts.

Buying WoW tokens with garrison gold is more satisfying than the boring as shit raid instance we have right now. Blackrock is one of my least favorite zones they've done.

Seriously. I haven't raided in wow for a long time so I can't really make much comparisons other than thinking the WOTLK raids seem like they were probably a lot of fun just based on running them solo, but BRF certainly has better encounters than Highmaul did.

Raid encounters, for me, should be no longer than 2-3 minutes tops. Anything else is just too long and dull. I learned my lesson when I raided in in Rift all those years ago. I'm not sure why they don't build raid dungeons like Diablo. Run around, killing mini bosses and have an end game boss fight for a few minutes. Rinse and repeat. Maybe one encounter every once in a while that is longer.

6/23 will be the raid release. Usually 2-3 weeks after the pvp season ends and they're not going to release it 6/30 or 7/7 because of the 4th of July, and 7/14 would just be a straight kick in my balls.

Anybody know whether or not a player will be able to trade Primal spirits in for the new Blood? I would not imagine it too be cheap but I could see a 200/1 ratio.

50ish percentile mythic highmaul (sub 692 ilevel):
Tectus: 3:30
Butcher: 3:50
Ko'ragh: 4:20
Kargath: 5
Ogron: 5:40
Brackenspore: 6:45
Imperator: 11:20 of Fuck You

50ish percentile mythic brf (any ilevel):
Hans and Frans: 4:50
Flamebender: 5:15
Gruul: 5:33
Oregorger: 6
Operator: 7
Blackhand: 7:30
Kormog: 7:30
Beastlord: 8:30
Maidens: 10
Blast Furnace: 10

So yeah, definite trending upwards. I doubt any MOP tier had as many 7+ minute slogfests. Of course, MOP had the 20 fucking minute Sha.

I dunno how to find relevant pre-WOD stats though. Comparing to something like Icecrown would be interesting.

EDIT: It doesn't help that the last minute or so of Maidens is ten times as hectic as the last 30 seconds of Tectus, while being 6 1/2 minutes longer.

They have said no. That doesn't mean they wont change things a few months in, but at the start, no.

Yea, the problem with being able to trade Primal for Felblight would be that some, like me, would instantly have enough to upgrade our 3 crafted items to max. Since they announced to reduced costs, I've been stockpiling primals, and I have between 900 and 2400 per alt (9 alt total).

Yup no point of them switching to a totally new currency for the upgrades and then letting people blow huge stock piles of things like primal spirits to buy them would totally defeat the purpose.

Yah, same reason they made them not available from barns. Soo many wasted rush work orders.
