What makes you say that? PTR is a release candidate, arena season ending, and they have locked transfers to PTR.So at this point, there is really no chance 6.2 makes it out on the 23rd (coinciding with first Timewalker weekend)?
Probably. Basically all the content is designed and implemented, there's just a few fiddly bits of fine-tuning to do. The extra stuff is already pushed to a 6.2.X. The release is merely deciding that enough fixes have made it out of the bug tracker, and the rest will be hotfixable.just seeing if it was still possible.
First timewalker weekend is the weekend of July 4th, isn't it... so they could push out the patch on the 30th, right? Or is there some holiday on 6/29 that I'm not understanding? So at this point, there is really no chance 6.2 makes it out on the 23rd (coinciding with first Timewalker weekend)?
In a preview article, they accidentally posted the weekend of the 26th as the first time walking weekend, which is why everybody is guessing next Tuesday is patch day.First timewalker weekend is the weekend of July 4th, isn't it... so they could push out the patch on the 30th, right? That was already the case with Blackhand. You did Blackhand LFR to finish your legendary questline, not because it gave you incredible upgrades. If a casual player actually remained subscribed for the 10 weeks it takes to open up the LFR content and they were interested in doing the Tanaan jungle content then they would be completely geared out in Apexis Crystal / Tradeskill / Garrison handouts before the door to Archimonde even opens.
I'm kind of very annoyed with this. I don't raid like I used to in vanilla/tbc/wrath.. mostly because all my good friends quit the game. I came back and I enjoy seeing the content, LFR is ezmode yes, but it's nice to at least be able to see the content while playing solo.Good lord. Ten weeks of a delay for LFR this time? Two and a half months?? What marketing genius thought this was a good idea? If a casual player actually remained subscribed for the 10 weeks it takes to open up the LFR content and they were interested in doing the Tanaan jungle content then they would be completely geared out in Apexis Crystal / Tradeskill / Garrison handouts before the door to Archimonde even opens.
So it actually makes a lot more sense to unsubscribe and simply not do any content until the fall when the game unlocks than it does to stay subscribed for 6.2. At least by walking away from the game you have a better chance of enjoying the content and feeling you get a reward than you would just feeling obligated to login to do dailies for 10 weeks building up your gear so you can ... not get any reward from killing Archimonde.
Patch 6.2: Fury of Hellfire is almost here! On Tuesday, June 23 players will be able to build their Garrison Shipyard and venture into Tanaan Jungle to face Gul'dan and the twisted remnants of the Iron Horde. Hellfire Citadel Normal and Heroic modes will also be available for those who are brave enough to confront the dangers within.
Because FFXIV isn't radically different, just a little slower. Lots of people have at least 5+ years invested into WoW at this point; Why jump ship from that investment for a game you may like cause its similar, but you're ADHD and need the spam? I mean, WoW survives at this point because its WoW, basically. If FFXIV made some of the stupid decisions WoW did, they'd die a fast death. But WoW can do it, because they're the biggest, baddest motherfucker around. EQ survived the time it did on the same principals. Look at Luclin, PoP for casuals. It was total shit for a long time. LDoN brought some decent gearing options but a massive, fuckoff grind. When GoD rolled around as another bad expansion, there were alternatives in the WoW beta. People knew what WoW was. They had something else and were sick of the bullshit.Content cycle is great in FFXIV. Dunno how blizz keeps the subs still with Square doing it how they do
So never?WoW will kill itself, just not until theres an alternative that has mass appeal and provides a different enough experience that its worth jumping ship for.
