Maybe to announce something along the lines of "stay subbed for a year, get xpack for free" deal ?I was hoping they were pushing for a Gamescom reveal because they wanted to get it out in Q4 2015. Why the rush? Trying to keep people subbed?
But they didn't announce something like thatMaybe to announce something along the lines of "stay subbed for a year, get xpack for free" deal ?
Ok they have my attention.Disc Priests are going to be a much more offensive healer after another pass on Atonement which will make it more interactive.
They will still have heals and PW:S, but they will sustain their healing through doing DPS.
Closer to 50% damage and 50% healing spec.
In the past, when Atonement was popular you would just spam Smite and Holy Fire all fight long and use the smart healing, which wasn't very interactive. This time, you may throw out some single target heals giving players a buff. Next time you Smite, people who have that buff will get your healing, and you will have to refresh the buff periodically.
Oh right, nevermind, they're still retarded after all. Do they worry about the 'ranged heavy' nature of Hunters or the 'stealth heavy' nature of Rogues? These changes should fix the absorb heavy nature of Discipline Priests.
Ranged and stealth does not effect other classes abilities. Heavy absorbs do.Ok they have my attention.

having two rogues doesn't mean one can't stealth consistently...Ok they have my attention.

Considering that the "absorb-heavy nature" currently makes a disc Priest an absolutely mandatory class/spec for serious raiding, yeah they kind of had to address that. There are a few specific bosses where you want to stack Hunters or Rogues, but you basically can't raid Mythic at all right now if you don't have a disc Priest. Holy Paladin is almost as bad and I hope they address that too.

These are all balance issues and technical limitations. Instead of taking away the most effective tool available to raid healers they should give other specs tools to compete with it. And absorbs from different priests should obviously stack. Maybe have a max absorb cap to keep it under control.having two rogues doesn't mean one can't stealth consistently...
It really is boring. I mean, it was like a fucking carnival whack-a-mole adventure in MoP with how much everything was procs but I found it more enjoyable than now.I really hope ret gets an overhaul. I've pretty much been a ret paladin since 2005 when I started playing. It's so boring in its current state.
That or arms warriors. WTF is up with WoD arms? It's insanely stupid (in a bad way) to play. I played a lot of warrior during MoP and loved it.
There's nothing they can give another class that will compete with an absorb, that's the ENTIRE point, that's why what is being said is being said, If no damage happens it doesn't matter what kind of heal you give, it's not going to be worth anything. These are all balance issues and technical limitations. The point is, Disc spec's whole identity was focused on absorbs since vanilla. But they care more about perfecting class balance than making sure class specs feel unique and fun. Raiding used to partly be about being proud of your class/spec and how well you can do that particular role. Now you could hardly tell what classes were in the same group as you if you didn't look at the color of their names.
I really think I've been enjoying the game less and less ever since they started the "Bring the player not the class" mantra. Maybe I'm just in a particularly nostalgic mood right now, but pretty much all of the most fun moments I can think of from the last 11 years of WoW have been nerfed or removed entirely in the interest of balance.
True, a 100k heal can't compete with a 100k shield; but if you think there's nothing that can compete with an absorb you're just not creative enough. There's nothing they can give another class that will compete with an absorb, that's the ENTIRE point, that's why what is being said is being said, If no damage happens it doesn't matter what kind of heal you give, it's not going to be worth anything.
