WoD at launch didexactlywhat people are asking for - minimal dailies that could basically be skipped as soon as you started heroics/raiding. How is that a non-sequitur?

Dailies are just part of the problem. When you look at the bigger picture it's a combination of everything that made the game worse.

Itz is just trying to be retarded and succeeding.

Time gated content based upon elapse instead of invested time is the problem. Dailies are just the purest form of shitfuckery which is literally just "thee may only sample thine cookie once per diem". Garrisons are a less obtuse version of the same concept in time gating that doesn't appear as obvious on its face but is ultimately frustratingly slow and ponderous all the same. Regardless of the fact that it has come and gone in several different manners whether it be straight dailies, tied to long respawn mobs, metered progress through the lockout system or whatever 9th circle of hell shit garrisons were, it's all a symptom of the same problem.

Wow is based upon a shitty design framework and the only way to make it appear more than it's actual size is to obfuscate it with delay mechanics. Timewalking and other events are touching on the right path to keep involvement while removing some of those barriers but who knows if Blizz will 'get it'.

I can't understand how someone can defend WoD. It's like they created a ton of one-shot content that was done in a matter of hours and then phoned in a shitty raid like Highmaul to close the deal, it didn't even drop a tier set becase BRF is the same tier, har har har.

So I levelled, doing Shadowmoon, Gorgrond, Talador and I was 100 halfway through Spires, this about 2 days after the xpack was released. Meanwhile I did once all levelling dungeons as they opened up.
Once at 100 I finished all quests in all zones, collected all treasures, killed most vignette mobs and even did my fucking horrible apexis daily. Then I was in full 630 quickly. All this in 2 weeks from the xpack release.

At this point I had nothing to do, and I mean nothing. Once Highmaul came out, I tanked that shitty raid over and over, then came a patch where the most impressive content was a selfie camera. I tried to resist and after 4 or 5 bosses in BRF I told my guild I was going to gtfo and quit for a while.

I came back 4 months ago,, it was before Christmas holidays. Since then I completed 3 legendary rings, because fuck, why not? I'm sure at least one of the three has good chances to be my main in Legion, so I won't be ass fucked like I was for the MoP cloak.

I'll play Legion for one month, because I want to see what they did with elves and then quit again, all this while playing on vanilla servers because it is much more rewarding (and yeah, fun too, it's amazing how few assholes I can find on those servers).

I wouldn't probably cancel my sub ever again if they would make vanilla servers and eventually a progression server (but a static vanilla must remain, best wow time imho, except for Ashkandi warriors wtfpwning in world PvP

Itzena is a Brit. It's in his nature to prop up and defend the policies that trickle from a position of authority with stoic pride, no matter how shitty or flawed the policies may be.

"Close your eyes and think of England."

Edit: damn I just broke my years long streak of not saying anything mean about someone on the internet no matter how stupid they sounded. It wasn't Moonbat, lumie, IRB or Gaige, but Itzena. Nice job, Itz?

I don't mind dailies at all, but I think dailies while something is grindable at the same time was perfect. Netherwing for example, yeah you were fighting over the eggs but the point was you could max out your rep doing only dailies or doing dailies + finding eggs to turn in that sped up the process by what felt like weeks.

And immediately,MMORPG.com tells you why it's not going to happen

In a sense, it weakened World of Warcraft's branding because it showed players that where World of Warcraft is going isn't necessarily better than where it was coming from?and that's a far bigger threat to a company than the fact that people might be using their intellectual property in a way they can't control.

I'm not defending WoD, I'm pointing out that complaining about WoD because it has too many dailies is fucking stupid. As per the previous posts, there'sso much elsewhich was actually wrong and valid causes for complaints that performing some sort of revisionist bollocks which tries to push all the problems onto a factually wrong "dur hur too many dailies for the casuals" is counter-productive.

You're not too bright huh? Dailies have been an issue since WoTLK, nobody said it's the sole reason WoD sucks. Dailies have sucked since they moved away from being supplemental right after sunwell was released and moved to the current bullshit they are now. So... they've been shit going on like 9 years.

Like I said, WoD at release hadonedaily to do each day which because superfluousveryquickly i.e. exactly what you are asking for. Whining about dailies in WoD is a distraction.

And yet, here we are, with tons of shit dailies, and more to come in Legion, which is what we're discussing. You catching up yet?

Khane it's useless arguing with Itzena, he's a known fascist sympathizer and proponent of gearscore socialism.

I personally hate strict dailies. I like weeklies. Let me do 7 heroics for valor when I want to, for example.

The problem is, without dailies/weeklies, how do you give players something to do on a consistent basis. People are hating on dailies, but WoD had no dailies and people talked about how bored they were. You can't have it both ways. So if you want dailies out of the game, what is your idea for content that even the most casual players can stay busy with?
