They're getting extensive with these pets. Patch 7.1: Falcosaur Pets & Mounts
4 new pets via World Quests in 7.1, long ass quest chain when you get one, eventually leading to a (possible) mount. Four pets, four mounts.
They're also adding another aquatic mount (why??) to darkmoon faire. Some sorta saddled stingray.

You guys horde or alliance? I've got an alliance Hunter and sham that both hit the numbers but I've just been jagging off doing higher number mythics and running the occasional pug normal or heroic EN.

So I've noticed on my alts it seems there is a fairly big ilvl gap right now at around 850 where you have to rely on TF to climb above.
I can't really get groups for M6+ with that ilvl (at least not competent ones) which force upgrades, EN N is 850 unless it TFs and emissary and WQs rarely TF high enough to be of use. EN H is doable but you aren't going to find many groups willing to dip below 860 in a pug.
I guess Kara will help but seems pretty dumb to have to rely on TF procs to get into H tier stuff.

i hit 848ish the first week legion was out and i was stuck between that and 855 until about 3 weeks ago when i joined a Heroic guild. there is definitely a gap in ilevel stuff, you pretty much have to pray for 2 legendaries/rngesus titanforge stuff to break the funk.
in the past 3 weeks i titanforged a pair of 890 boots, 880 pants, 870 gloves and got a legendary drop. ilevel shot through the roof. also ran a +9 so hoping for a decent 875 item from that.

Get yourself into a Heroic group. The mechanics are not all that harder, and you can pug it just as easily as join a guild group. Everyone wants 250k+, but like I said - you can get by with north of 180k. There will obviously be people that are pulling 2 to 3 times their weight at this point. Once the game has two raids going, mythic + going - you'll see a pretty quick gap closer.

logged onto PTR just to verify Blood of Sargeras prices for mats and got the Arms hidden artifact to proc. walked up talked to Helgar and he had the quest. tested it on 2 different character copies at AK9 (AK10 on live)
either
1) its bugged as shit on live and wont spawn
2) PTR is bugged and Helgar's trigger has been removed
3) blizzard has been lying and they didn't add it till 7.1
