I still only have 2 legendaries (one for the wrong spec but that's my own fault, other is utility BS). I've taken to just "forgetting" they even exist since it is a completely RNG-retarded system that detracts from the fun of the game.

The legendaries that dramatically change playstyle and are spec specific need to have some way to acquire them. End of story.

I wouldn't mind the system as is if there wasn't clearly a ramp up in time spent for the so called "bad luck protection"

Spec specific ones (so, most legendaries) need to have a way to be acquired outside of RNG, I agree. I don't see that happening though, Blizzard is stubborn as fuck with shit like this. I expect we'll be stuck with this shit system for the entire expac with everything changing again in 8.0.

I must have really shitty luck. Emissary and heroic every day. Clear 3 versions of EN every week and about 20 mythic + at least a week on my paladin. Just got my second legendary recently.

It would be great to see how they really track that.

I wish.

The belt which I guess is situationally useful (anytime you're trying to burn a boss into phase 2, or fights like Xavius where I won't need to be dispelled until probably 6 or 7 stacks since it's 100% leech til 85%). I might stop using the chest and use either my sephuz or the belt in 7.1.5 when they are buffed.

I have the nightbane chest, just need the trinket from medivh and I think switching out ekowraith will be worth it.

Interesting. How did they gather that data? I'd like to see my own based on when I got my previous legendary.
If you click on the link you quoted they explain all the data and link to the original spread sheet.

I finally got my second legendary across all characters yesterday. Normal EN every week since release on at least one character. Heroic EN every week except one since release on at least one character. Normal ToV since release on one character. LFR every week on at least one character. I have the 100 dungeons skin (mostly done in Mythics and M+ except daily heroic) on three different characters.

Some times bad luck is bad luck. My 2nd legendary came from my cache this week. It was the feign death and heal mask. I ain't even mad. I'm just glad I finally got a second one!

Q: Legendary usability - some require a specific situation to be useful and otherwise feel like they aren't there at all?
A: Mixed feelings about this. I think it's okay that a legendary isn't working at max potential at all times (i.e. ST versus Multitarget fights). Months down the line you may be able to pick the best legendary for the best situation.

Legendaries are still mostly RNG.

they're nerfing that into uselessness as anything but a 910 item in 7.1.5. Grats! at least it has good stats.

there is a new Q&A up on mmo champ with the useless Hazzikostas guy. Also some more PTR class changes: Patch 7.1.5 Build 23178: Class Changes

The "picking the best legendary for the best situation" should be considered with a previous answer, where they said they weren't concerned about the RNG because someone who played all the time for the entire expac would "probably" have all the legendaries they wanted by the time the expac ends.

Holy shit they are fucking dumb. "Months down the line"? So for now its fine for people to feel subpar because sometime in the future they will feel in line when compared to those who got lucky drops? Teh fuk?

Maybe I'm missing it but I don't see where they are pulling the data from. I want to pull the data myself for my character.

Only the hardcore players will feel legit put off by this. They don't care about that segment of the population as long as Mom and Dad/casual WoW players (who represent the majority, and don't really care about "feeling sub-par") are happy with their Sephuz and Prydaz. If the bad luck system is (as some suspect) time-based, and not only contribution-based, everything will even out in "months", and their core player base will be happy as pigs in shit.

Meanwhile, the hardcore players will be livid, but they'll still keep playing, because they're addicted and Blizzard is well aware.

They are scraping the API for characters on their server and seeing how many of each of those things they did and then assigning it all a point value.

It's guesswork but decent guesswork.

As a really casual player that does 2-3 mythics a week tops, LFR and spends the rest of the time jewing it up on AH and killing battle pets, Blizzard can suck my dick. Then again i want my stupid 2 million spider mount so I will continue playing :( Crack is whack.

Literally not worth it to wait on the professions. Other then a couple of very specific recipes, the rest of the legion recipes can be made by someone with a 1 skill level.

If you want to do the Garrison Stuff here is your checklist of shit to get from it:

  1. Captain Title
  2. Heirloom Rings (3 of them)
  3. SELFIE Camera Toy

Appreciate the responses, love FOH.

I thought that professions would be a good source of income to a new player (gold is both scarce and exponentially more useful in increasing character power)? Get some gathering profs for easy moneys?

Since I have two 100+ characters already, I'm not in a rush to have a third anyway (plus old dungeon tanking is fun). Need to spend more time dicking around on my DH before I think of committing to it or if I stick with DK. Plus having two alts sounds like a shitload of work for a person who is behind as-is.

I thought garrisons would be an easy income source, but I am not seeing how that is true. Am I doing it wrong? Is there a good guide on the interwebs you guys would recommend?
