World of Warcraft: Current Year

Were you guaranteed the weapon drops off the final expansion boss in previous expansions? I honestly dont know but find the hint of entitlement amusing.
no, but these are BoA weapons that were added to give players who do Flex/Normal/Heroic raids an additional bonus over LFR after some people cried hard enough that there wasn't any real incentive to do these over LFR

I died to Immersius this week out of sheer lazy. I thought I'd just stand in his spray, it's LFR. Mistakes were made.

On the other hand, I got to browse the web instead of doing a snoozefest encounter. win/win?

If I keep feint up on Tuesdays, I do'nt have to move. It's sort of nice.

On the other hand we had a 3 stack of Determination on Blackfuse, none of Paragons, and a 4 stack on Garrosh (with 3 wipes that didn't increase it).
Failed my way to another mask!

I kill myself in heroic 25m fights sometimes when I'm bored out of my mind.

Hell last night I stabbed myself with a sacrificial dagger at the start of Dark Shamans just so I could walk away from the encounter for a few minutes.

And this is what happens when raiding becomes a loot grind.

Many lessons to be learned.

As a filthiest of filthy casuals, I have finally completed all of the LFR raids and must say I enjoyed them quite well. The movies, fights, and the people were quite entertaining. God bless this LFR feature, it works wonders for me.

That being said, is there any reason I would ever want to move up to Flex, Normal, Heroic?

I understand Heroic fights will have new mechanics and of course be harder but as the typical casual, I really just enjoy seeing all the dungeons, bosses, cut scenes, etc. Does any of that change as you go higher in difficulty?
IF I remember doing ToT LFR you don't actually see any of the story cutscenes. Did they change that?

There was only one cutscene in ToT, and you didn't see it in LFR because it was a transition cutscene between council and tortos. In LFR those are two different wings, requiring no cutscene. SoO has lore cutscenes (like Deathwing raid at the end of Cat).

I always wondered what the deal was when going from fighting trolls to being underground fighting a huge turtle.

Joined a 25man hc raiding guild a few weeks ago and I didn't realise I missed raiding that much (haven't raided heroics since Firelands). It's a 3 evenings a week deal and most of the members are old geezers like me so it's nice and relaxed.

The fights are challenging but a lot of fun so far!

Did you join my guild?

I'm playing with mostly older folks on a 3 night a week raid schedule as well.

"Becomes"? I thought that is what it has always been.
It's always been a loot treadmill, much like leveling is a treadmill, however I've always thought there was a special place in hell for "grinding". Take, for example, what heroics became after they added badges vs the former.

There you have my personal distinction between the treadmill, which generally acts as a barrier to entry and the grind, which is a much more dogged and unecessary type of treadmill.

I personally dislike both, but they're certainly distinguishable. Hopefully I'm not just splitting hairs.

I remember people doing the die on purpose shit in TBC. And stories of it in Vanilla.

SoO LFR makes you clear the same wing of trash twice. That's just extra special.
Yeah, I never got that. I mean it makes sense for SoO in the other difficulties, but LFR it's basically "Eh, fuck em, they're getting free shit".

Any time I experienced that it was for lulz and only heard about it if the raid leader was a super douche. I never saw it done on purpose. Maybe I was just part of try hard guilds?

It seemed to happen more during the end of TBC when they patched in all the Lich King changes before the expansion came out and raids got consistently easier.

What spec should I be leveling as a rogue at level 80.

Keep in mind I have not played a rogue before it was a free 80 from SoR.

I liked Assassination. If you get mobs close together enough you can actually keep SnD up just from envenoms. Though Combat with the cleave might be awesome (I haven't played it).
