It never really occurred to me how stupid a raid in Orgrimmar actually is until I got in there. So far my favorite part of being level 90 is looting my timeless chests. So much so I pretty much abandon a character once I've looted them and get another of my 80+ up to do it again
This if funny because that is what I am going through right now. I have two characters that I have leveled up to 90 in the past couple of months. I get full timeless, I run a couple of raids, and then I lose interest and move on to the next one. I really thought I had it as a DK, raided longer than previous characters (about 2 - 3 weeks only before going meh) and then started wanting something else. I guess I just like the chase, not the finish.

I wish WoW could convert their entire class system into what The Secret World did. I was a big fan of that system. I want to be able to do everything eventually rather than switching characters all the time. I really liked being able switch specs on the fly, etc and just concentrate on a single character.

So further update with trying a tank, got my brewmaster monk up to 42:

Toxixs @ Blades Edge - Community - World of Warcraft

I will go on the record right now and say, officially, this is the most fucked up, unfair, OP class to ever appear in this game.
Low levels are pointless as metrics, prot warriors 2-shots everything up and including cataclysm quest mobs (charge, shield slam, revenge), 3-shots (add devastate or heroic strike) for the tough ones or the lucky ones. Wait for MoP before measuring a class performance when grinding mobs.

God, Shield Slam was even more fun in leveling content before the Scaling Nerf a few patches back. Reminded me of 3.0 paladin leveling, where your Exorcism generally killed whatever it was pulling, up to level 50.

A single serpent sting kills leveling trash twice over once some talents kick in. Ditto flash heal being a CH and all sorts of other broken scaling. It's pretty funny but also makes things absurdly easy.

They are actually addressing this in WOD. They are removing flat +damage from skills, so the power scale will be more consistent as you level. It's going to be one hell of a mess with item squish though.

They'll still have to fuck with abilities every time a new item tier comes out and throws shit off. But the alternative to that is putting caps everywhere, and that's no fun. ("oh boy, new raid - now my AC/HP/Mana will be +gooder!")

I understand that it's just that I've leveled more than a few other classes (never tank before) and this was the first one that actually blew my hair back in terms of just damage and survivability. While questing I have no fear of pulling a rare elite 5 levels higher than me and I know not only am I going to win, I'll never drop below 95% health if my CD's are up. That said, as I level the monk I am noticing while I'm still insanely difficult to kill my dps is leveling off, no more 2 shotting shit. I'm now having to do about 2 full rotations on quest mobs.

Kind of the flip side of my frost mage. If my CD's are up his dps is fucking retarded but if they're not and I get rushed it's gonna be bad.

Also, heirlooms have ruined any sense of difficulty in 5 mans, even heroics pre-MoP. I can't think of a single instance before MoP where if everyone is rocking heirlooms you can't just chew through any mechanics. Tribunal in Halls of Stone used to be a challenge now everyone thinks about killing themselves if they have to run that shit now.

Tanks in general are OP as fuck at low levels right now. Not just monks. In dungeons they typically do more damage than most dps at the same level and they obviously have more survivability. Doesn't really matter though it's not like your characters stay level 40 or whatever for very long.

I still wish they would go with a Diablo/Path of Exiles route. Where items would start messing with the abilities that your class has. Rising Sun Kick Heals you now, as well as Blackout Kick. Multi-shot also applies some type of Sting on all targets hit. Death Grip spawns a shadow of what you death grip and it fights for you. ---- Its cool to see new content and it keeps my interest when its new to me, but the +gooder stuff is and has always been boring as shit. The Item Squish has always been needed, but never more so than now. What is the average ilvl at the start of Pandaria? 350? Where, shit, Im ilvl 565 right now. Top being 580 (not including cloak). Regardless, that much item level gain in one expansion was just dumb to begin with.

You did peak my curiosity when you said they are removing flat damage from skills, though. If they change that, then how exactly are abilities going to differ when a new tier of content comes out?

Replacing the item you killed a god to get with an item you collected 8 berries to get is always a great feeling.

So I resubbed Friday night like a moron. ilvl on my character was 485. As of last night, my character is sitting at 509. I went through timeless isle, every raid, and killed Garrosh in less than 2 days.

What the fuck is this piece of shit. It's 10x worse than before I quit. Truly the most terrible and disgusting design made even worse. Not subbed in over a year to beating the boss of the expac in less than 48 hours? Go fuck yourself Blizzard. I wasted 15 dollars on this.

I've done it all without understanding a single boss mechanic. I just stand there and dps or heal. I realize i can do it on the harder levels and get higher item level but it's still pretty silly how easy it is to see all the content. I don't know what the lure is supposed to be to keep people subscribed.

I said to myself that I was going to be coming back just to see the content. I've done it all now through LFR, and yet, I'm still lured in by getting more gear, and be higher on the meters. That's what's keeping me going right now. iLvl 506 right now, and can't wait to see what kind of healing I can put out when I'm 540+!

Lore-wise the progression of this expansion has been dumb.

70-Illidan
80-Arthas
85-Deathwing
90-a bunch of orcs with uhhh...scorpion tanks and big flaming wheels.

Having the heart of an dead old god (who we have casually slaughtered before in mid-tier content) doesn't really cut the muster when it comes to "bigger and badder."

Who's this joker in my way? I, the godkiller.

Hopefully they do something interesting with WoD because having us kill Blackhand is retarded when I can go back and solo the aspect of death.

A lot of the fights have fairly significant mechanical differences on LFR. That being said being able to go from fresh 90 through all the lfrs in a couple of days is pretty dumb.

I'm just getting fucking sick of orcs. Orcs in Cata, orcs in MoP, and now more orcs in WoD.

Aint that the f'n truth. When I saw we were going to be fighting more f'n Orcs in WoD, I let out a big long sigh of disappointment. Why cant we see something more from the Naga? or the Murlocs, even. Centaurs? (Desolace was a pretty cool Zone iirc.)

LFR does its job in letting people that just want to see what all the fuss is about, see the content. Its the player like myself, that will try to push for more. I like seeing the new mechanics. I like shitting all over the DPS meters. I like solo tanking mobs that required switching for stacks 30 ilvl ago. I get enjoyment out of it and it really doesnt have anything to do with Epeen. Now that I have no reason to do LFR or Flex, the amount of people I talk to has shrunken enormously. Being able to pick up at any point in any raid is socially huge imo. Do I like repeating bosses? No. But if someone needs me to tank a Boss Ive already done for them, I might think about it? lol It just creates friends and I cant wait till Normal has that mechanic in WoD. I cant for the life of me understand why they wont allow people to do it in "Mythic" difficulty though.

At the end of an expansion? This has happened the last two expansions aka the only ones that had LFR.

All the other expansions the last dungeons/whatever made the last raids obsolete pretty much so people could get in and see everything before the new expansion.

LOL @ complaining about too many orcs.

Fucking troll content out numbers damn orcs by 1000:1. It's stupid how much garbage they pushed through with trolls. I'm not even talking about storyline shit. I mean just random troll content throughout the world.

Not only did they make every island in the game some kind of troll island. They went back expansions later and REDID it over and made it current content. So fucking lame. I imagine the developers just sit at their desks yelling across the floor, "WE NEED MORE CONTENT AND I'M OUT OF IDEA'S!" and some shithead yells back "JUST THROW SOME TROLLS ON AN ISLAND/DUNGEON".

Orcs have been the main focus for the past 2 expansions, and now it looks like a third. Trolls were never a main focus for an expansion.
