Not to mention that wasthebenefit to melee, slight though it was before the caster movement bloat. Melee get to move while continuing to DPS, casters don't have to avoid as much but lose DPS when moving. From what I've read they are taking away or at least limiting pretty much every classes movement based abilities. I don't have the links but I remember some posts about how the "movement bloat" has had a negative effect on raid design mechanics in that they need to keep upping the complexity and the movement timings in order to actually bring difficulty to the encounter, and they are at a point where they've reached the limit on how many ways they can try to counter all the movement simply via mechanics. So they think that pruning back all the mobility will allow them some more breathing space when it comes to encounter design. From my shaman friends that are in the beta it seems like ele is doing fairly well in comparison to the other ranged dpsers even with lightning bolt movement taken away.
edit:
I should add that I've mained an elemental Shaman for a long time and while I do like the mobile playstyle, I never had a problem in any version of the game with keeping up competitive dps. Just have to learn and adapt as always.
Wait until you're fifyish. You'll appreciate being able to stand still and push only three-four keys. That is good to hear, although after playing other games (notably Wildstar) it feels strange to stand still so much in WoW.
The quick and dirty:Glad to see others working through the legendary quest on multiple toons. I'm doing the same thing on my Paladin + Hunter. Hunter finished Secrets last night, and got the Tempered Lance done. Just have to do a couple more quests on Isle of Thunder to "unlock" the Foot of Le Shen or something. That'll put me on Titan stones for my Hunter, then back to Paladin to collect more secrets.![]()
I'm too scared to go tank on my Paladin though, since I don't really know how to tank any of the LFR fights. He's Holy though, so the queues are not too bad.![]()
So their dps doesn't make them OP either? Healing wasn't even a factor in my statement. They have ridiculous dps, can tank and heal by your admission. That needs to be toned down, not just a little. If thats not the most obvious fucking answer to that dumb ass question. Why would you even waste his time with that?
A brewmaster has enough passive heals, active heals and oh shit heals that he could effectively sub for being his own private low ilvl raid healer. Thats why theyre OP. But instead of just nerfing those abilities in particular, they feel the need to do sweeping changes to the entire monk tree and the only class role thats getting a benefit out of the changes is the Mistweaver. If people knew more about the strengths and weaknesses of the Monk, then I think people would agree that the nerf bat is a little heavy on the class. To go from OP to underpowered in comparison to your counter parts doesnt give you confidence that they know what the fuck theyre doing. Much less, the fact that it doesnt even feel like any of them play a Monk.
Its as if Furor took over the Monk Class and we all know how much he loves Monks.
Awesome! Thanks! Started collecting Ret gear, because not having a "DPS" spec, and just having Holy + Prot was stupid for trying to complete quests, and especially leveling come WoD. Love healing, and so will probably stick with this. Still using a ton of prot gear, as Ret spec, but gets better every week as I shuffle through the LFRs, and any flex I might be able to get into. The quick and dirty:

It's monk centered but the fight mechanics (and taunt points) remain the same of course. It's been my quick "oh how many stacks do we taunt at again?" lookup source.
I only did LFR and Flex so far so some mechanics (and numbers, some of his are pointed at 10-man) may be irrelevant, but it's good for a quick look.
I just realized my disc priest and protadin will also have to do the isle of thunder unlocking... well that's going to suck, both have abysmal dps.
Prot uses mostly ret gear, FYI.Still using a ton of prot gear, as Ret spec
Lol, good thing I'm going for my Ret gear now then!Prot uses mostly ret gear, FYI.

I'm only using the neck because it's heroic warforged, wtb HWF jugg keys, but fuck me right?
I was under the impression that itemization in WoD was also getting revamped such that defensive stats like dodge and parry are getting removed from gear. The way I interpreted it was that from here on out you would only need one set of armor for all the roles your class can perform. Is that correct or just wishful thinking?Awesome! Thanks! Mostly, yeah. You'll still prefer certain secondary stats over others for each spec, but all stats on armor pieces should be useful to every spec. The exception is non-armor slots (rings, neck, cloak, trinkets, weapons) which can have spirit for healers or bonus armor for tanks.I was under the impression that itemization in WoD was also getting revamped such that defensive stats like dodge and parry are getting removed from gear.
