On the Cloak,

I have heard that it is being removed from the game. There were changes to the quest line that was supposed to make it easier to get the cloak. I assume these changes go in before they remove the quest. I am now at revered for the faction and on the 3000 PvP portion of it. Now I had heard that the PvP element was being removed. Should I just wait for the quest to change? Is it feasible for me to finish the cloak if I do?

Depends on how you feel. Honestly the Valor and PvP elements were not THAT bad. The PVP one got a little annoying because you had to hope for those wins. But honestly, I'd say do it ASAP, because if you wait until patch, your window of opportunity shrinks to deal with the headache of the raid collection parts. Even with the gaze buff, RNG can fuck you in the ass and you're spending a few weeks for one step.

From what I understand, the PvP portion takes 3 weeks anyways due to the cap?

I think you mean the Valor. Since that's capped at 1000 per week. So sure, if the patch takes less than 3 weeks time to come out, you're ahead. If not, you're still behind. Keep in mind you can still use the valor in the mean time to purchase/upgrade epics. So not like the time is going to waste.

The boring part is collecting all the sigils/runestones/secrets, which by itself takes quite a lot of time, the rest of the quest is a joke. The PvP prat took me less than an hour, including the mob in Krasarang.
With the buff, even grinding faction is stupidly fast, like two hours from honored to exalted if you are good enough at pulling zergs of trolls/mogus on the isle of thunder (dailies on the isle don't give black prince faction, but all kills to complete them give it, I did a few dailies and then killed stuff for a while).

I hate PvP. Playing an Enhance Shaman pretty much means I need to build a resto set. Also I am on the alliance not the Horde.

It was discussed earlier but I am hoping the next legendary does not have a PvP component to it. Make 2 legendaries if PvP is that much of a deal. One can be PvE with PvE requirement and the other could be strictly PvP with PvP requirements.

I could be wrong and wont provide where I saw it, cause i can't remember. But, I'm pretty sure they did say it won't have a PvP portion, or don't plan on having it have one anyway. I just know this time, unlike in MoP. I'm not gonna slack on each part when it's released. Much easier to do each section one patch at a time, rather than all at the end.

If they gave an entirely PVP based path to "power up" a legendary sort of like Shadowmourne which in the end was aimed to be a PVE weapon it would be kind of cool, but fuck the idea of a PVP only legendary weapon, that would need to be like all/all and transform depending on your spec/class. All end game pvpers would be required to have it which would kind of be gay if you ever wanted to make an alt lol

Keep in mind that although the quest will be easier once they remove the valor/PvP requirement in 6.0.2 they are also removing the Black Prince buff which dramatically increases the quest item drop rates from raids. So, if you wait until 6.0.2 drops to start you are most likely not going to finish the quest.

I went through and looked at all my characters last night and I have several characters at the 0/3000 Valor requirement. I doubt that I am going to complete the cloak on any of my characters beyond my Mage though as the cloak is going to get replaced at level 100 anyways.

From my perspective, getting cloaks on alts now is simply offsetting [a very small amount of] time spent leveling to 100. The proc damage is going to be pretty marginal as you approach 100, but it will certainly make things faster in the early 90s. The problem is that the amount of effort it takes to farm all the runestones and secrets isn't nearly as marginal.

Yeah. It's just to have it in your bank. Only reason I didn't get them on my alts earlier in the expansion was because I assumed we'd be able to go back and solo them in WoD. Spending 30 minutes a week farming the legendary on alts is significantly more appealing than suffering through LFR idiocy.

I just wish they'd announce what legendaries are limited time when the legendary comes out, not a year later.

I really dont understand why they have to discontinue Legendaries, anyways. Its not like you're going to be in the next expansions raid pimpin Sulfuras. The Legendary Cloak design is ugly imo, too. If people joined the game late, dont raid, or are basically bored to fucking tears and want to do it - more power to them. More shit to do in my book. Taking them out and allowing them to be "limited time only!" is kind of retarded in the grand scheme of things.

... and to touch back with what we went over earlier - The cloak will last you till lvl 100 and a little past that. The ilvl of WoD isnt going to instantly make your Heroic lvl gear chump change. Especially if its warforged with 4 upgrades. This isnt Classic > Burning Crusade kind of ilvl inflation, thank God.

You've never been able to transmog legendaries, it sucks because you can't even tmog the cloak to look like something else either.. and the cloak looks like a piece of shit lol
