Coming back to play recently - I can believe it. Finding a group that isnt fucking retarded is pretty rare. I actually feel sorry for people actively trying to gear a character right now without some sort of guild help. Only a theory, but I think most of your skilled players have left for the gap in content and are waiting on 6.0 at earliest to get things rolling again. So.. that means we're kind of stuck with a skewed ratio towards players that even struggle in Flex.

Yup. There's nothing to do until maybe a day before exp launch, when you can resub, clear your bank clutter, and be camped at the Redder (more Red than Dark!) Portal (or wherever the intro quest line starts) for the next day.

Arent they having a pre-release event that might run for a few weeks where orcs storm out of the dark portal and you can farm your ass off for a pokemon? I was actually going to sub a couple of weeks for that and the first few levels into WoD before I lose interest again.

If it's the same as on beta servers, the event is in Blasted Lands and you can do the quests in about 20 minutes. Not sure if you can grind anything, not that I'd care.
I personally love Pandaria, minus the shitty Timeless Isle, so I'm gonna enjoy it until the last minute of its relevance. This been said, I'm looking forward to WoD.

Well yeah it sounds bad when you fucking lie about it like that. Every player having the option to roll only on gear appropriate to their class equates to 4%/10% (depending on raid size) 'control' over loot by each raid member. To be fair I don't really pug much, and when I do I run them more often than join them. It stays ML until my guild no longer makes up a majority of the raid, then I switch it to NBG. If all the pugs available to you are pure ML, that sucks. I'd rather not pug in that case.

I got a realm best CM title last night but i just read even if i were to hold it until 6.0 hits they're removing them? What is that janky shit.

just read realm best players will get "Mistwalker" as a title, which is still pretty cool. I'll take it~

also neat, warlocks get a title for getting green fire before 6.0 (even though it should be who got it in 5.2.. fuckin casuals.)

In WOD, you'll have the option of lfr style loot or traditional loot. So hopefully that will end the problem for pugs. Of course that's up to the raid leader I believe, it's not like you can opt-in. (which would be sweet)

I realize now that my normal pug garrosh kills were goddamn flukes. I haven't been able to get another one in weeks.

Some highlights:
Outdamaging the raid in P1, while doing engineers. How the fuck?
DK leader pulling 130k
Leader's warlock friend pulling 90k
Leader's tank friend trying to solo tank in full PVP gear
Countless dps doing no damage to weapon / charms
Ranged standing out in fuck knows where
Every P3 failing to interrupt charms, even in groups so overpowered that Garrosh transitions without even hitting empowered.
Groups trying to stack through p2.. and dying horribly to the doubled up weapon + whirl every time, EVEN THE GODDAMN ROGUES (WTF!?)
Melee dying on pull
People screaming "who is on second engineer!??!"
Countless people who have no fucking clue how to handle empowered whirl
An endless parade of people who don't collapse on Garrosh for charm (the #1 cause of charm wipes)
Disarmed while charmed - fucking really?
"AOE at top" = aoe while running and die / kill healers / fuck raid when nobody has buff
"All left" = tank goes right

Note these are all 550+ required raids, and most are 560+ with achieve.

Best thing I can tell you is to.. ask people from here to go on like a Garrosh Flex raid with you (Flex 4) and see how they stack up. That will show you how certain people do on here without too much investment and even high ilvl people will want to do a Flex Garrosh for the BoA weapon. That way you can weed out certain people that suck, invite some personal friends and altogether have a good starting base for a Normal Garrosh raid. From there, you can pug whats left and since its not a good portion of your raid, you can easily replace people that are pants on head retarded or just do poor DPS.

In other words :Dont be afraid to kick people and hurt feelings. Chances are you'll never talk to them again and if you dont make it into a big deal, ignore what they say, theyll forget who you were anyways.

Hope that helps, but Im all to familiar here lately with starting a raid when you're a DPS. Hugely easier to make your own raid as the Tank.

Actually as stupid as it is the timeless isles took me from brand new 90 to raid geared in a few days. It gets you in so you can do LFR and LFR gets you enough gear to let you do normal/flex raids. Without the timeless isle loot pinata it likely would have taken so long to gear up for raids that I would not have been able to see them before the expansion. But if you can stomach running around timeless isles for a few hours gearing up for raiding is not very difficult nor very time consuming.

Even will all my experience, I'm no leader or organizer. It's just not something I've ever been willing to do. I'm a follower and I'm the first to admit it.

The most I'll do is point out mistakes or give a quick rundown of the things that people usually fuck up in hopes that we don't have to wipe five times before people recognize the problem. Which of course generally means half the group has been replaced and the same fuckups will repeat themselves.

there's your answer. I've yet to group with someone from Mal'ganis who wasn't a complete ass in one way or another.

Not saying there aren't decent people on that server, but the ratio from personal experience is at least 10:1 for me.

It's the strangest thing. I've seen about half a dozen Mal'ganis players have complete meltdowns during pugs or LFR raids and even a heroic dungeon once and yet none of the other high pop horde servers seem to have this issue. I'm talking about a constant tourette's level stream of profanities.

Maybe it's just one guy and I ran into all his alts.

Tanking feels oddly like soloing. I have a 30 pal with heirlooms just to fuck around on that hasn't left org since level 15, and I've noticed that I barely even have to care what the rest of the group is doing. They may as well be NPCs.

I've gotten items back when ML ninjaed shit.

I've never had an item returned because some asshat won a roll on a trinket that is extremely rare and necessary for my class but worst in slot for him and he already had the two BIS - or they roll need even if they already have one.

Tanks can solo dungeons for the most part, up to Cata from experience and likely up to Happy-faggy-bear land.
