Looking for some people to play with on a different server. Tried khaz modan but I never see you guys on so i'm going to try Illidan H unless anyone has a guild that needs a war or healer type.
I'm on senjin horde. We have two dps wars that regularly raid but could use healers. There are a few that play quite often but most of us are on Wednesdays and Sunday's from 8:30 until 11:30 CST when we raid. Most of us are geared so our new recruits are pretty much guaranteed a spot. Come 6.0 we will be farming looms from Garrosh.

We're pretty much a normal (heroic in WoD) mode only guild with an average age of 30+ so not hard core by any means. Add Alavaz#1973 if interested

Taking a break from Destiny for an evening I was mucking around in WoD with my Mistweaver and things are definitely a lot different.

Building Chi is much more controlled, but also much more annoying if you had been used to channeling Soothing Mist as a primary means to generate Chi since Chi only comes from Renewing and Surging mist now. The longer GCD is not too terrible, but is definitely noticeable if you are trying to do some heavy HoT stacking or keep the group healed. Group healing mechanisms for the Mistweaver are now somewhat terrible given that you either have to have everyone close together or rely on Renewing Mist and then Uplift. The Mistweaver Mastery is still just plain garbage. No one ever uses the Orbs and Detonate Chi is clunky at best. I have no idea why they are so incredibly keen on this Healing Orb business but it really is frustrating.
I didn't check Mistweaving in beta, but I hope they reduced surging mist cost by like 99% if I have to use it for chi generation, right now is such a mana drain, I avoid it until it's 100% necessary. I plan to main Brewmaster, but playing healing offspec with the monk has been quite fun, it's fairly exciting and given also the large amount of CDs, it gets quite intense at times to manage. I still have to master the meter-padding skills, but for my crappy gear, I'm not doing that bad.
Orbs should "proc" on people as smart heals imo, leaving them on the ground is a bad design imo.

Well I was doing a dungeon and noticed that my mana bar never moved unless I cast Surging Mist, so it seems to still be a significant chunk of mana. It's also quite slow, I was only using it for Chi generation when things got hairy. Otherwise it was Soothing and Renewing with the occasional Chi spender.

I probably should use Surging more since I was Chi starved most of the time, but being a largely HoT/Channeling heal class meant tossing in a direct heal like that feels clunky.

Finally killed LFR Garrosh, that whole raid was actually pretty awesome, I like it. Malkorak was hard as fuck with retards though.

haha, it's hilarious that malkorok is actually a challenge in any difficulty because of how simple the mechanics truly are. If you have one person who knows how to mark the ground in combat, the fight becomes really trivial :]

Congrats on beating Gary, you are the new pokemon champion!

Heroic Malk is no joke, it's the first truly hard encounter in there. While "avoid the orbs" may seem simple, the amount of orbs that spawn, and the pathing complications that it creates to the void zones, coupled with a very tight enrage timer is no joke.

I just can't wait to start doing actual raids for SoO. My ilvl is shooting up, I'll probably end up buying a gary heroic kill sometime before WoD, lol. I do enjoy the fight but currently not really running with any guild (that does anything anyways).

^ Heroic Malk scares me. Double so cause it still throws me off that I don't really actually heal in that fight. I really enjoyed that shield mechanic, as simple and dumb as it may be lol

Slight derail here, but does anyone have any experience with DX Racer brand chairs? My former computer chair is on it last legs and I'd like to get something quality before the expansion launches. I'm looking at a budget of 100-450 dollars.

Removing the chi generation from Soothing is stupid, while randomly proccing, it was my main source of white dots: renewing+expel harm+soothing meant being ready to cast an Enveloping very quickly on inc and from there build the necessary tank healing. Surging is a fairly crap heal, due to a stupidly high mana cost (on live now), but it can help in emergencies, which is its role. It's true that with chi brew, some attention and careful use of mana tea, I'm hardly running on mana vapors, but it happens to go very low and sometimes soothing duplicated by our statue is good enough (at low mana cost) to build a chi spender or two and waiting for a chi brew to pop back up.
It seems to me that this is changing for the sake of changing. The MW is fun, but it's absolutely not OP (like lol priests padding meters with divine stars on stacked raids, guilty of that myself), there was no need to change shit in the name of noobs that don't understand or whatever excuse they gave about it.

Started running through the expansion quests because I figured it would be good to understand the Garrison before launch.

Holy cow does this not feel like it comes out in a month. Buggy as heck quests, the new map interface which seemed very intuitive from overviews is frustrating as hell (what are the orange circles meant to be exactly?), and the pacing just feels off. Am I the Commander of the Alliance forces or am I doing step-n-fetch for a goddamn bouquet? I swear the missions I send my followers on sound a lot more interesting than what I'm doing.

Biggest issue is the landscape. Sure you don't want to allow flying because it eliminates ground-based encounters along the way...

Then:
1) Why the fuck is half the damn map some sort of hilly / mountainous terrain that you have to puzzle out how to navigate.

2) Why are the quest encounters spread out over large distances with absolutely no content between them?

The vanilla WoW was artful in how well it did the themepark zones cramming a ton of quest content into a surprisingly small space. So far WoD is a bunch of virtual islands with quest hubs and linked murder corrals with huge empty areas between. Not to mention that I feel somewhat obligated to pop back to the Garrison frequently to complete follower missions and send them back out.

I finished building the Tailoring shop in my garrison and found out that aside from a daily cooldown I couldnt actually make cloth myself, I pretty much have to queue the shop to make it for me. I suppose it makes sense that I have minions making stuff instead of me embroidering while the world gets blown to bits... But I still have time to squeeze toads for juice so it's not like I'm all that busy.

I feel like the Garrison is a Farmville-clone and the main game while my character is just a way to pass the time between cooldowns.

I like the Garrisons but I have no idea what they were thinking when they revamped crafting. As a tailor, I have gathered cloth from humanoid NPCs for 10 years. Now all of a sudden I need to trap fucking wolves (Which I mistakenly kill 90% of the time before they get trapped) to have the barn turn them into fur that gets turned into cloth at my taior workshop on a 4 hour cycle? And my daily cooldown requires herbs to make cloth? What the fuck? It just feels like they fundamentally changed how professions have worked for the last 10 years to somehow tie them to Garrisons.

The Garrisons themselves are going to be a nightmare to maintain as you can't send NPCs on quests or queue crafting unless you port back to the Garrison. Not sure what the mission timers are like at a higher level but right now I am constantly porting back and forth from questing to my garrison to keep my NPCs on missions.

Its not bad design at all - its actually a pretty cool element. Its just unfortunate that the way they have it implemented would put you behind other healers because you have to take the time to place it visually next to the person taking routine amounts of damage. While the Priest to your right is playing whack-a-mole with Healbot and doing the same job at a better pace.

The interesting bit of information, and likely the reason for the nerf in WoD, is because with a program like Honorbuddy that applies heals to people taking predictable damage - it doesnt need to take the time to target an area to place those Orbs for example. A similarly geared Healer from another class, running an HB routine, just doesnt keep up with the Mistweaver. Its as if Blizzard took the Mistweaver idea and made it very mechanical in how it works and what works best with something so mechanical? A bot.

Placing the orbs would be one thing, but they don't get placed. They spawn randomly next to people and unless people stay very still they aren't even useful for us to manually detonate since the orbs tend to be left in the wake of the group rather than next to anyone who is actually hurt.

Notice how every expansion of WoW over the past 10 years, and indeed nearly every game made in that same time period, has at least one major quest that involves clicking a ground item that gets bugged and never respawns? Most of the time it is a complex multi-object situation typically some prisoner in a cage or similar effect where the cage never respawns right, or the prisoner doesn't or some variation thereof. You would think there would be a Master Class for new content creators that had as one of its first lessons : "Never make respawning ground clickies".

So you can port to your garrison and then right back to where you left off, like queuing for a dungeon?

Is the ability called "Town Portal" with a blue glowing gate?

Do you have to go to your garrison to check on progress or is there a UI you can bring up for that?

Does my garrison integrate with facebook and every mobile device known to man? (RIP Titan)

Can we complete quests while in a raid group if the raid group isn't actually present in the zone? (goddammitsomuch)

Porting to Garrison is one-way, you have to fly back unless you have a Mage Tower and then you can at least port over to a nearby hub.

You have a UI element to check on progress but have to use a "Command Table" to complete missions or assign followers to new activities. You get command tables at your satellite outposts that you build in other zones. Any tradeskill type orders at the base you have to go to that building for so require a trip back home.

Gaydar tingling. I still like the idea overall.

Is there something that makes it less of a headache for alts?

Once you've completed X amount of work orders (the number keeps changing) you get an achievement that unlocks all the plans for all the buildings for every character on the account.

Every time I go to isle of thunder or timeless isle, I'm reminded how much I fucking hate not being able to fly. Is the intention to make people fight mobs instead of dive-bombing? Because that just doesn't seem to work when they have like a 20 yard leash radius. Everybody just trains everything around like an asshole until they reach destination point and then finish the few stragglers.

On timeless isle that only works because everyone outgears everything so much. If WoD has anything like those Fiery Charge mobs on Timeless Isle, then riding around is gonna be loads of fun hitting 100 in quest greens.
