The whole patch has kind of taken the wind out of my sails. The stat squish isn't really an issue besides being disorienting. Without a concept of where you were vs. where you are, it was almost an instant reset. I have no idea if one ability hitting for 592 vs. 18.6K before makes it better or worse.

That, plus almost every single one of the specs I played had things gutted that I really didn't want to lose. Granted, some of it may be the squish, I don't know. But for Blood DK, I miss Rune Strike and now have to wait around while I pop out a deathcoil every once in awhile. For Arms warrior, I have to spam whirlwind? OK. Then on Prot, cleave is gone. I can't find anyone who has the new cleave glyph. So I'm just like 'uhh, ok' and have to replace one button with a sequence between Thunder Clap, Shockwave and Bladestorm to effectively AOE tank even the smallest group of mobs. It just seems a step backwards in a lot of ways, before I could spam cleave and use those CDs for there relevant effects instead of making a shitty rotation out of them.

I haven't even tried my hunter yet, but my Boomkin is ... ugh. The automatic bar of the balance system just removes everything about the mechanic that at least gave you the illusion of control. Now you are really whack-a-mole two different spells. I don't think Boomkin before had a dense rotation, now it's just laughably obnoxious to have to constantly be rechecking where the meter is after THIS little boss vignette or stun or whatever. Before, you had it in your scan and you knew how many casts were needed of starfire/wrath. Now I constantly have to stare at the dumb meter and guess timing.

Blech. It just seems to me they pruned the wrong things. I would rather have the old number of rotational abilities back and only ONE fucking CD with a bunch of shit that just adds effects/stats to it. Instead now I have all the CDs and 2-3 abilities I use on every class regularly. Why?

Was finally stoked to get a soo run and we get all the way to blackfuse and comcast went out and I logged back in to be removed. They should like.. add an option to see who was the raid lead of the last raid you've been in. Oh well.

On one hand I'm sick of SoO, on the other it's like 3 more garrosh kills tops where he's in easy mode and shots at looms before the expansion hits.

Comfortable being a Fire Mage, even with the 'nerfs'.

Will probably end up Arcane for the early raids in the expansion, as Fire is only good with the gear to support it.

The stat squish isn't as big of a deal as some of these new rotations.
^ That. Granted, I'm near as makes no difference a newbie to the game after having been away for so long, but I doubled the DPS on my L90 MM Hunter just by sitting down this evening and figuring shit out.

I guess those heirlooms from Garrosh are rare? I'd like to grab one for my Hunter so leveling won't be a pain in the nuts.

100% drop on the Garrosh Heirlooms for the first time you kill him in each difficulty, not counting LFR.

After you get your first on a given difficulty, it is random for that difficulty. You could get one every kill or never see one again.

To be clear, the Heirlooms only drop on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.

I understand what you mean and you are definitely right.
I tested some of my most played alts and I really don't dig the changes for most of them.
Mistweaver was crappy but fun, now it's just crappy. Hunter I don't know, I played mostly BM and removing one dot auto refreshed by cobra shot is not really missed, but I don't think they saved me many keybinds on that. Brewmaster is still cool, even if I liked spheres a lot more than Surging Mist.

I like my shadow priest, it was left almost untouched and it'll gain interesting choices with varying playstyles at level 100, but I dearly miss Renew in shadowform, having to constantly toggle form to flash heal me and toggle form back on is boring as fuck. Discipline is still discipline, but I loved Binding Heal and that's gone, Renew is gone as well, but I don't really care about it. Holy Nova is... well... Holy Nova, but useful.

Restodruid is not heavily changed, but the casting time on Wild Growth is so stupid... new mushroom is more dynamic and less powerful, Genesis is meh and new version of Omen of Clarity is dumb (Regrowth only? Really?). Monostack Lifebloom is unsurprisingly less annoying to mantain and I let it bloom almost every time now.
Feral is healing like crazy, Guardian is the same old bear, but I miss Bear Hug. Both have been pruned quite a lot, hotbars feel empty now (and they are). Balance is a spec I never cared about.

I played a bit of rogue, which is better thanks to the combo points moving with you (never too late for wise changes) and warrior which is overpowered and frankly ridicolous. I liked old arms warrior and I don't like much the new one, fury is op and protection is fundamentally the same. Blood death knight without hearth strike and rune strike left me with nothing to use way too often, except spamming blood boil on single target and sometimes death coil. Holy paladin... well I did the horseman, not sure how that counts, can't evaluate :p

I have to cap the mage now, which is 89 still and the shaman from 86, then aside from my daily dose of Tillers/Anglers and xmog gear hunting, I'm done with Mists of Pandaria.

Oh well, it's not like it's hard to get into a group now, it's just very unfortunate lol. I got a few drops though so it works I guess

For all you new folks coming back, they put out a 2 min crash course for every class (though not every spec - just the ones you'd probably use for leveling):

I'll probably resub at the end of the week, the question is do I continue with my main (prot pally) or make a new character. It's been a long time since I tanked in this game.

I like to tank, I truly do, but I prefer to heal, because it's more interactive and because a mediocre tank can bring you out of many situations still, but a mediocre healer will gain you a res more often than not and I like to feel important (this is what I tell myself, the reality is that all my friends want to dps and one wants to tank, so nobody wants to heal and I'm the bitch for our static group).

Jokes aside, WoW healing was always very fun to me, at times also very intense and exciting, other times more boring, but now I can nuke with pretty much every healer so I can make the boring part less boring (facerollable content). I played all healers and like them all equally, with maybe a slight preference for disco priests and paladins, because absorbs are cool and having several cooldowns/utilities is awesome.

Edit: post patch Mistweaver is shit. This Surging spam to get Chi is stupid.

Mistweaver feels clunky as all get out. Mostly because I keep having to fire off unneeded Surging Mists in order to build Chi. I tried just waiting until someone was hurt enough to naturally need Surging Mist and only then use Enveloping or Uplift, but heading into a bursty situation without Chi just is not working. In those situations I need to use Enveloping first and THEN Surging to deal with spikes, not the other way round.

As a side 'feature' of the change to make sure that people don't overburn healing spheres on the ground when they are stacked hip deep they only activate one of them at a time...but apparently even if they are grievously wounded and really need multiple spheres they will still only consume one. I've watched tanks drop dead now with their corpse literally buried in the goddamn spheres.

We killed heroic garrosh at max raid size about 20 times last night, feels like a 20% drop rate on Heirlooms. Finally got our DK tank his Tusks off of bonus rolls, as well. That's one Transmog slot locked out for a loooong time

Still no bloody 1h Str Sword heirlooms.
