Technically all my upgrades from this point are things only from tradeskills/ raiding / followers raiding. However looking over my gear I am disgusted with the number of pieces with trashy secondary stats thanks to the shotgun approach to itemization in lieu of reforging.

The game seems convinced that I need more Versatility seeing as it loves to give that stat to me on any item I receive.

Versatility is the worst stat on the planet, and it's all over the Highmaul Plate.

Hoping fights don't end up being tuned around a specific Versatility breakpoint, like old Resist-fights. Luckily, I don't see that being likely with the absolutely stupid amount of Versatility you'd have to stack for its defensive benefit to actually do anything.

Still disc; clarity of will is an amazing talent imho. I don't do smite/holy fire much anymore; but shields and penance heal really good, at least in dungeons which I've been doing.

You got me waxing nostalgic for vanilla WoW when Windfury procs with 2H weapons were a thing of beauty in PVP. It was definitely OP in hindsight but when you were playing Horde on a PVP server and were outnumbered by Alliance it helped even things out. The drama on the official forums of Alliance players getting insta-gibbed thanks to Windfury proc was fun to read.

WF as a Shaman + that hammer from MC that proc'd AOE earthquake was really funny. We gave a Rag hammer to a Shaman for the hell of it, he had a blast in old Alterac Valley.

I think it was stronger in Vanilla though, been a long time

Just nothing compares to the satisfying thunk of a windfury with a 2hr and watching the gnome in front of you just fall over instantly. Sigh...the good ol' days. I miss 2h enhance.

As a priest i was melted by more windfury shaman in vanilla than i care to remember. Between purge and earth shock it was like a 5% survival rate.

Good to hear. Been running my shaman (first 100 and old main) as Elemental while I now gear for Resto. Nearly full heroic geared and I struggle to do 12-13k dps =/

The good times could start as early as level 37 withRavager from Scarlet Monastery. WF proc and then the twirl of doom, all over Stranglethorn Vale, eat it Alliance trash. Damn I was sad when they got rid of that.

Speaking of Shamans, wth happened to totems? Fuck this class is a hot mess, don't understand it at all anymore. Now some black rocks shoot out when I cast a spell but can't figure out why or how, and I have only a few totems and hate them all. I still think elemental has some of the neatest spells in the game, though I noticed earthquake doesn't shuffle the ground up and down anymore, it just creates a cloud of dust.

Unholy is beating the other DPS specs at every 630+ ilvl. DW Frost may outscale it... in the raid after Blackrock Foundry. Unholy is also in the nice position of having 2-3 other classes ahead of it on the "Devs Murder This Class's DPS" list.

I just wish they'd make Necrotic Plague a real boy talent for Unholy. It feels really stupid having one of your core attacks extend the duration of your diseases... when you're dumping your diseases to Plague Leech continuously.
