There is always one hehe.

Most of the ilvl630 wpns on our AH are between 50 and 70k, and there is very few of them.
It costs 100 BoP crafting mats to make one, so the price isn't gonna drop. If you want an inscriptor to make one over making 10 cards to sell for 5k each, you're gonna have to pony up.

Oh I know, I was the one selling hehe. Trust me, the 100 BoP were a pain in the ass to make.

Anyway, rerolled the stats this morning and got something a bit better so I kept it for me in the end.

Now, if someone was willing to buy my cards on the AH, I'm running low on cash. ??

So whose getting their DPS axed in the inevitable patch? My money is on MM hunter, Ret and Monk. They are in a league of their own compared to the other classes.

Monks have to be played perfectly right now, purify often and never drop shuffle are just the basics, guard has 2 charges so I'm more liberal in its use and it helps a fuckton.
In heroics I have little problems, some pulls here and there, but nothing spectacularly hard, providing that everyone knows what to do.

The rest is based on a collection of tricks, for example if you play a brewmaster, remember one thing: if you ae stun a lot of mobs, their swing timers reset, so you should not stay there like a tool when the stun wears off or you'll be (almost) instagibbed. Generally speaking I'm having a good time tanking as a monk, I do also a truckload of dps which never hurts (I love chi explosion). I also use and abuse the new Ox Statue functionality: it's an agro magnet, it's almost an AE cc and it's incredibly good when grabbings spawning adds (they hurt *nobody*, not even you for a good while). Gotta be careful in placing it down when pulling, because it has a huge range. As an added bonus, if a mob is CC'ed long enough, the statue will keep building threat: had a mob in Skyreach that after a 1 minute CC, was beaten to a pulp and he never turned on anyone in the group because he was sooo mad at the statue that it was almost comical.

Anyway it's active mitigation, not passive, so the best players will be the best tanks, gear being equal of course. As I said I like to CC because in the end with my current gear I cannot AE tank everything all the time, so I prefer a 2 minutes longer run than wiping.
You have to consider that if everybody is doing 6k dps, there is no good tank that can take punishment forever, sooner or later it's going down.

EDIT: I got Croman the Barbarian yesterday, hah!

BrM just got massively buffed. Shuffle is back up to 20% and Guard's absorb was doubled.

There is so much whining going on about the warrior gladiator talent that I wouldn't be surprised if it gets nerfed.

That would be probably too good to be true, but I welcome it for challenge modes.
What I'm truly loving is the new Ox Statue, learning to use it is of paramount importance, it's an amazing crowd control tool and works on melee and ranged alike. It can pull more than one pack (yeah, mistakes can teach something), so it requires practice and a bit of attention when placing it. I just have to make a macro to unsummon it. I had a mod that placed a small icon for it (it worked also for the old druid shroom) that I could right click to unsummon, but I don't remember what it was.

Why? I thought it was a great idea to let people dps with sword and board. I suspect it's a pvp complaint.

Only if you've got a good imagination. The original windfury would proc 2 swings for nearly DOUBLE your normal melee hit each. Multistrike is just 2 wimpy 30% of normal hits.
I recall a period of time where Rogue's used Fiery Weapon to proc extra swings on procs. There was also a 2hander that had a dmg on hit proc that could proc itself again that caused some shenanigans in BGs.

I'm thinking of maybe picking this up a bit over Christmas break time. I have a few questions:

If I only have TBC is WoD the only upgrade I'd need to buy or do I have to back fill the previous expansions? Or do they get granted with the purchase?

Is the Level 90 boost a limited time thing or is it there for whenever I choose to buy it? Or should I experience the game from level 1 since I never did Cata, WotLK or MoP?

Boost is there for whenever wherever you want. Everything through Mist of Pandaria is now part of the base WoW so getting the expansion gets you everything you need. Note that the older areas are ghost-towns and the experience curve is so meteoric that even if you want to stop and smell the roses you'll level out of the older content so fast you barely get to see anything.

tldr; boost. play alts later with heirlooms if you simply must.

Just boost. Get your garrison online and humming. Once you have a level capped character you can scoop up some Heirloom items and go enjoy some nostalgia. Missing out on the first few weeks of a new expansion, especially this one, seems like it'd be a shame. Raid zones opening up soon, etc etc... Plus, the game was never balanced very well for non-level cap characters, and that's especially noticeable 10 years in. If you boost, you'll be given gear and a tutorial quest line that slowly adds abilities to your character so you won't feel so WTFed.

The game is current up to MOP now, whatever version you had previously will be that far along, so you just need to buy WoD.

Level 90 boost isn't limited, although one would argue that if the last time you played was TBC you'd probably want to level up from 1 the first time around. There's a big world that you'll essentially skip if you go straight to WOD.

I never even really liked alts back when I played vanilla so I'm guessing just boost to 90 because I don't really give too many fucks about storyline. I played a rogue for a long time then switched to a warrior eventually for Naxx. I generally prefer tanking or melee DPS is the Warrior still the most flexible with those two options or has it been relegated to a defined role?

I had a Stormherald on my shaman back in TBC and it was amazing getting WF procs and watching the other person just melt
My fave was that old altarac valley hammer the unstoppable force I believe it was called that procced a large stun effect and was really slow so its WF hits were crazy when jousting with people in PVP. That thing was love BONK BONK BONK.

I don't typically play the whole auction house game but last night when doing my daily apexis quest I got a purple ilevel 660 str crit/mastery shield to drop. My first thought was oo I should give that to my prot warrior alt but my guild mate said since that warrior was not my main I should just put it up on the AH. I had no idea what to put it up for so he says just shoot for some crazy number so I said sure and put it up for 120k gold. It sold in under an hour. Clearly my idea of crazy number for gold cost was not nearly crazy enough. Oh well I guess I cry myself to sleep on my huge pile of gold.

Warrior can DPS or tank just fine. No one really has a defined role except for pure dps classes.

I'm maining priest, but I am enjoying leveling up the monk a lot. I have a warrior in Heirloom shit up to his gills. Should my third char I level up be a DK or a Warrior? Decisions...

Since I wouldn't have a ton of time I'd be mostly interested in low queue times. I assume that either tank or healer have the lowest times? I'd love to play a rogue again but I feel as a warrior I have more direct impact on carrying a terrible group. Or at least I did in vanilla and TBC.
