It doesn't create gold, but it dumps trade goods into the economy at a ridiculous rate, making them all worthless.

Wait, how can I convert my GR->gold at a 1:1 ratio in a way that doesn't use the AH? Because I've just been lazy and bought those gold bags at the trading post when I'm GR-capped, and thats nowhere near 1:1
On days when dust is 20gr you can buy a stack for 800gr. Stacks have been going for around 800g but it's been dropping as more people cap gr.

Eh, at least on Hyjal and Stormrage... I havent found any resource that would initially go for a 1 to 1 ratio of Garrison Resource to Gold. Its close on some though. 5 Crafting Resource going for 12-15g for example so its not hard to fathom.

Not really. If you think we weren't all bottling and hacking in EQ you are willfully blind.
Fucking thank you. It amazed me that people never questioned Warriors etc. camping mobs in Fear and Hate as if they had Track. Hoderpa ~

Dust is still close to 1:1 if you don't try to sell it all 5 minutes after you buy it when the goblin chick has been at the post for 4 days straight.

I'm capped every day on my hunter, so I've also been buying sea scorpion segments because I've already done the achievement for those and I'm too lazy to keep fishing for the shit. Stack of 200 segments turns in 100 healing tonics which were worth close to 1k gold, but it looks like the price has been cut in half since the fish vendor has been in town for two days now. Hopefully it will bounce back. If not, well, I'm not one of those lazy people who uses healthstones when healing tonics heal for a lot more, so I burn through stacks of them pretty fast anyway.

So in the patch there will be +125 stat foods. Am I correct in thinking there isnt a 125 feast? Vorph we might have to publicly shame people

Correct, no new feast yet. Multistrike food is 12 fire ammonite tentacles and 6 crescent saberfish flesh (presumably for 6 foods at 700 skill), so for the seemingly vast majority of classes/specs that prefer MS there won't be any excuse to not have 125 food for BRF. Fire ammonite lava pools are like 5 yards outside our garrison.

Yea but he said the AH relocates wealth, but GR creates it. Except it doesnt, just gives you more stuff to put into the AH, which is just relocating the money. The way it was referred to as a "gold faucet" made me think there was a way to straight monetize the GR itself, and put more gold into the system.

I'd rather throw apexis or honor at the coins; I can't envision myself ever using either currency. I have zero interest in doing the dailies, too, haha.

I also find myself vendoring a lot more greens rather than DEing compared to previous expansions. Any green over 20g is more valuable as cash than turning into 2-4 dusts.

I've been using 900 GR instead of 1500 gold per week on seals since forever. Apexis grind became unbearable after 2 weeks, and fuck pvp.

Can't login to any of my characters. Keep getting "character not found" error. Deleted all my cache stuff and still no go. Any ideas?

When this happens I close wow and fire up the task manager. Make sure to shut down the battlenet updater. Most of the time I can log back on.

I don't know anything technical about how routers work, but if I forget to shut down BitTorrent I will have a lots of connection errors (world server down, instance not found, character not found, etc). I suspect it's due to the router being flooded with peer connections (since my upload is capped at 5 kb/s and download 75% of max), but I due to general ignorance, I can't say for certain.

Anyway, just bringing it up since it could be your problem too.

Some routers have a difficulty managing too many connections. My old one was capped at 50; once it had 50 connections open, new connections would either fail or randomly drop existing ones. I had to tune my torrent client to keep it sane.

That's weird. I did a networking project where we loaded my router up with like 50k-100k connections. It became really shitty, but 50 connections seems awfully low.

That's home routers for like 15$. Those things were really underpowered 6-8 years ago. And that's the firewall/NAT part (OSI layer 4) which limits stuff. Layer 3 routing (IP) consumes no significant resources.

A 100k-capable firewall costs probably around 1k.

Recently I've discovered my home network trying to give every device its own IP address everytime it turns on. Not my main PC mind you, but every phone or tablet or SONOS speaker etc. that pops onto the whyfys gets granted a new IP. After awhile this resulted in it running out of address space since the default was like 200ish addresses. Solution was to establish static local IPs on the home network by MAC address...especially for the goddamn SONOS speakers who seem to be the prima donas of the "internet of things".
