It's spotted where the uncanny valley is, and tried to do as many laps across it could.

It's mostly about how to figure out how to play. When I started, you had like 5 keyword abilities (ok, plus xxxxwalk so +5), and a couple of special weirds abilities. Today, it looks like there's 25 keywords, plus two dozen abilities, and I have zero idea how they work or are useful...

I also have the itch to restart MtG. I came to MtG as they were starting; you had Unlimited and could often find a black-bordered Beta in decks, and Arabian Nights had just released (although almost no stores in France had imported any). I got quickly into it big time, up to having a full base...

    Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Although now with alt-Gamora in play, we can have a kind of interesting GotG3 where the crew has to track/face Gamorra+Warlock (need a Pip somewhere to make it a perfect callback)

    MTG: Arena

It's Unity. In theory, it should take them a day at most to make a build on Mac, iOS or Android. The thing that will probably prevent them from doing an iOS version is the store policies of Apple: any microtransaction within the iOS version of MTGA would have to be thru the apple store, with...

    MTG: Arena

It's a classic psych microtransaction move. If you have "some" premium currency remaining, it's easier to break out the CC to buy the "remaining" ones to get your item than if you just purchase the item.

He doesn't. He litterally makes Wakanda, so no African is ever exported to the USA. Making acceptable "copies" of his family is what really takes lots of tries. Don't overthink it. The various endings are litterally not consistent with each other regarding rules of remaking history.

2 years later... the almost sad state of MMOs in the new era

No one's advocating this. But if your game can only be played hardcore, then it will only have a hardcore population, and that means a crash and burn type game. 250000 subscribers on the first month, 10000 the next. You do need something that you feel is worthwhile to play if you cannot commit...

Most of the innovations occurred in a few other games, and WoW was quick to copy the interesting ones. Like the invasions from Rift. The only truly attempt to be really innovative in MMO was the ill-fated, ill-executed Defiance. But the concept was impossible to do well within the production...

Back when HALO - the original version on Mac, not the Xboxed bastard - was announced, I thought this would be a kick-ass control MMO for the online game. Your team can target any - procedurally generated - section adjacent to any section controlled by your faction, or defense which picks a...

Yes it is. The problem is a discrepancy between your eye and inner ear, not a problem of body movements. It's the same mechanic that causes transport sickness. The current "solution" is teleport, or "point and click". You target to your destination, you warp there, and your brain doesn't think...

Thing is, Asheron's Call 1 (released 1999) did it. Content/events every month. Including a poll "which starter city do you want us to destroy next month" (complete with people relogging after the patch and dying from falling damage into the crater). Arwic, oh Arwic...

Trion tried to make a Minecraft MMO with Trove. Unfortunatly, I think they thought the aesthetic of Minecraft was what made it popular (hint: it wasn't). And then there is Wynncraft (which uses Minecraft to make a classic MMO).

VR still hasn't solved the transport sickness problem. When you move in VR, your brain notices that your inner ear isn't reporting the movement "properly". Which makes you sick and prone to throwing up. Games manage to avoid that by having you stay in place, or put in a vehicle where your brain...

(since the previous thread has mostly died, here's a new one) Caveat: this is not a MMO-specialized channel, so having Gamer Zakh excited about Pantheon or Crowfall will probably generate massive groans. But at least, I learned about a few new MMOs (all crowdfunded, of course). Now, discuss...

No, it was the capsule used for the fist ISS flight, and scheduled for an emergency abort test. The test was that they'd launch, and then, at Max-Q (just after supersonic, when the worst dynamic effort are exerted and the flight is the most likely to have problem) they'd separate and land the...

I tend to follow Bellular for generic game news (non-MMO), but that video was interesting: Basically, engagement across all youtubers is down for Patch 8.2. They get less views, less likes, even less dislikes. And he's wondering if Blizzard is going to get those people back so easily for 9.0...

    World of Warcraft: Classic

Back then (in BC), they changed that. ilvl up to around 90 was linear, but during BC, they changed the stat/ilvl formula. Starting then, you had the "modern" formula of 15 ilvl = +10% stat (30ilvl = +21%, 45ilvl = +33%, 60ilvl = +46%, and so on), which meant they just had to plug "next tier is...

They have a locking system. Unfortunately, it's designed around Falcon 9 boosters, and the Heavy central cores are slightly larger, which means their locks don't work. So they use a temporary securing system... which isn't good enough.

The Schwartzchild radius of the a non-spinning black hole event horizon is a function of its mass, and nothing else. Black holes are defined by exactly three parameters: mass, rotation and charge. Know those three, everything else around them is deductible from that. Iannis mentioned a...

The era of "astronomy pictures" ended when digital pixel imaging was invented. It didn't take long before the old system of sensitive plates (you used plates, because they were rigid and didn't stretch over exposition time like celluloid) was replaced by digital. And now, you have gigapixel...

There is no "raw" image. You needed to mix 8 different telescopes to get that view, none of the telescope could image anything on its own. So it's a computer composite. *EDIT* Also, I just checked, and it's radio telescopes. So no real color anyway.

    Marvel Universe stuff

This reminds me of the entire run of E.E. Doc Smith Lensman series. They start with big battles of missiles, and by the end of the series, throwing PLANETS of ANTIMATTER at your ennemy is... an obsolete and relatively ineffective weapon.
