JASON WITTEN WITH THE MOST EVER RECEPTIONS BY A TIGHT END IN A SINGLE SEASON!

WHY AREN'T YOU ALL DANCING!?
I was dancing, in the stands watching an epic 4th quarter come back followed up by a defense getting torn up for the umpteenth time by Brees

First NFL game I have attended, the outcome wasn't what I would have hoped for but it sure as fuck was one exciting and memorable game. Also that place is loud as fuck on 3rd down, for some reason it just doesn't come off that way on TV.

He forgot to turn his swag off.

Since he can't entice grown, professional men with expensive baubles, I wonder what he's offering them in return for such stellar play. Maybe he own's Lynch's mother's soul, kind of like Mephisto. Perhaps access to his secret SoCal sex ranch. Or mountains of cocaine and hGh. Either way, the man has motivated an also ran team into a monster.
Skittles, obviously.

That was pretty lame but not too shocking and not the end of the world. Having them get out to an early lead was a bad deal, the 49ers are not a come from behind team.

The 49ers defense is not the same without Justin Smith. Please let him be back for the playoffs along with VD and Manningham.

Fucking Wilson is impossible to sack.

The great thing about that statement is he's in his 12th year. Time to start tapering off

He may outlast some RB's as far as useful life but father time is catching up!!!!

TL;dr Tebow says fuck you guys I'm not doing the wildcat just to be your bitch anymore since you fucked me out of the starting QB job.

So what yall think? I hate to side with a shitty QB that really isn't good enough to start anywhere but if I was Teblow... I'd probably opt to go somewhere else. On the flip side though, even if he goes home to Jaxnville and has to compete for the starting job he may never get another NFL snap. Shoulda taken that shit when he has the chance.

I hate the Seahawks but not as much as the 49ers. That Pete Carrol swag was fucking awesome. Take that shitty Harbaugh brother!

1. He may not like his role, but he's still getting a paycheck from the team. Do what the coaches say until they're no longer your coach. He's not actually selling tickets, err..playing for Jacksonville yet.

2. I guess a bunch of unwarranted and borderline obsessive media coverage has given him an ego that is not proportional to being the 3rd string QB. Has there ever been a player so low on the depth chart try and "opt out" of plays and not get shitcanned before he was finished speaking? heh....tough to understand the Jets these days.

The video board on 3rd down strobing looks like it could cause a lawsuit, shit is hard to look at.

Baltimore - Cinci is like a mini bye for both teams. Absolutely nothing to play starters for. Shit's going to look like a preseason game.

Oh and....

Wilson is clearly the steal of the draft, scoring first round talent in the 3rd round is always a win.
I wonder when NFL teams are finally going to admit that QB height is something that should barely even be considered. There's hardly any advantage that a 6'4" QB has over a 6' QB. Neither can see over the top of their lineman, most NFL Offensive lineman are in the 6'3 - 6'8" range nowadays + wearing a helmet on top of that to add another inch or two of height. There no QB in the league that can see over the top of his entire O-line. Height also barely matters for getting balls knocked down/tipped by the d-line, all of those guys are 6' +, and with an arm up, add another 2 feet or so. They're just as likely to knock down a pass from a short QB as a tall one with their hands sticking up over 8 feet in the air.

QB height should be looked at, but only if ALL other things are equal when trying to choose between two QBs. I'd consider arm strength, accuracy, mobility, leadership/intelligence, and a host of other tangibles and intangibles before height.

You're jumping off things early. I'll be the first to agree russel wilson has looked way better than ANYONE expected, even the people that drafted him... But saying he's completely proven himself and tossed this idea out the window already is premature. If I were desperate for qb, I know I'd be considering more options after this tho.

I still don't buy the concept of run-capable QBs if they're running anymore than say Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck.

They're going to get injured, and it's going to hurt their team. In fact it's already started with RGIII's knee.

And really just to clarify I'm not at all saying that everyone has to be stiff like Brady, but again at-most I want my QB scrambling like Rodgers/Luck and even P. Manning

Brees is barely 6' and he gets a ton of balls knocked down. Peyton Manning is 6'6 I believe. If you think about the height that they release the ball at (assuming they release from the top of their reach... that puts P Manning's shoulders 6" higher than Brees and his arms are at least 3" longer. So Peyton Manning releases the ball 9" higher than Brees before he puts any arc on it at all.

I think Brees does a good job of faking lots of defenders out about where he's going to throw the ball because he doesn't stare down receivers and he looks guys off fairly well.

I can't disagree with you though. I think all the other traits you listed are much more important so long as the guy isn't under 6'.

Doug Flutie had that kick ass jump and throw thing going on or he'd roll out and do the jump and throw. Hard not to like that guy

I agree completely. People seem to think that style converts well from college to the nfl, as is shown by picks and the high value given to qbs that do it, but I don't think that this has ever truly been established. All of the best QBs that do this style start out amazing, but they quickly become brain damaged cripples. It'll be interesting to see if one breaks the mold by staying in the pocket and then using those skills to only scramble when necessary, but seeing QBs run and get nailed like RG3 in the knee seems like such a waste. I hate vick personally, but can you blame him for getting so horrible so fast with all the crushing hits he's taken? I called him out as being the most overrated QB at the season start, and I didn't even feel the slightest bit worried when they won those first few games. RB qbs can be good if you need to fix your qb position now to win now (Imagine the 49ers with rg3), but they aren't a long term solution.

Yeah, that game had potential to be pretty exciting and then you guys had to fuck it up by beating the Giants. I wonder what the teams will do in this situation. It has zero consequences. Could be a Tyrod Taylor/Bruce Gradkowski battle!
