hey, I'll admit that by looking at raw stats that Romo is a better QB. Then again Cutler put up decent numbers in Denver too when he played for a team that was actually interested in passing the ball. 4500+ Yds and 25 TDs easily matches Romo's best season

name the last Chicago Bears wide receiver that you remember before brandon marshall? exactly.

Cutler is not a bad QB but he is playing on a team that is finally starting to learn the value of the passing game after trying to find the second coming of walter payton for the last 30 years (rashaan salaam, curtis enis, cedric benson, a-train, etc.) We got a new GM this year who has been aggressively filling in offensive holes. Cutler needs the tools to get the job done, and he is finally getting some of them. I'd imagine that with Miles Austin, Witten and Dez Bryant in his receiver corps that Cutler would do pretty well.

The Tony Homo worship on these boards is pretty lulzy though. He has pretty much a .500 record after a decade and one playoff win. Feel the excitement of 5 INT games!

Oh yea I forgot this funny observation while I was hammered earlier. Attendance at the game in Cincinnati was about half Cowboy fans. What a fail fanbase for the Bengals.
That's normal, Cowboys actually have more real fans on road games than they do at the Death Star - there's always a lot of Cowboys fans on the road (except in Philly, Washington, etc). It's too expensive to attend home games.

Drew Brees and Brady have both had 5 INT games, what's your point? Everyone has bad games.

Those awesome WRs you are talking about shit the bed in that game vs the Bears and stabbed Romo in the back by running bad routes and tipping balls. Then he had to take some risks in the 2nd half just to try to make it a game.

Cowboys O-line is way worse than the Bears - Romo just makes them look only bad instead of terrible. 7 of those 8 guys rotating in and out of that O-line are rated in the bottom of their positions on Football Outsiders - only Tyron Smith is any good.

Lol wow.. How can any Dallas fan defend Romo?! He's overrated and a step above a backup. How many more years of mediocre do you guys need before you realize it's time to move on?

Did they have more than 1?

I hope Smith goes to the Bears just to see Araysar do a 180 on him next year.

No idea, Romo has only had 2, and the other one in his first year as a starter he came back and scored 2 touchdowns and led another drive for the winning FG all in the 4th Q.

Why is this even a discussion? Since both QBs became starters in 2006:

Cutler: 61% completion rate, 133 TD/99 INT (terrible), 84.1 passer rating

Romo: 64.8% completion rate, 169 TD/88 INT, 95.5

You are an idiot. If Romo is mediocre, then 25 teams have worse than mediocre QBs. Cowboys would be like the Colts last year without Romo - no O-line, no running game, average or worse defense.

I liked Cutler before he was traded to the Bears.

If Bears for some reason picked up Smith, I'd be fine with him as a backup, but not a starter. I think that's a reasonable position for someone who thinks that Smith is quite average.

Why did the Bengals have to lose yesterday? We wouldn't be dealing with this awful discussion right now.

Eli Manning..58%completion rate, 205tds, 99ints, 82.6 passer rating. Wow Romo is such a better player. I bet giants fans would totally swap QBs... Stats mean nothing and Romo is just an inconsistent QB who will always always play that way.

ham who do you pick for tonight? Texans @ Pats -3.5

I think 40-24 Patriots.

We do need to consider that the Texans are likely sitting on their only loseable game, and even with a loss they've pretty much secured themselves a bye. Does that limit Arian Foster's touches? Probably not, but this is a MUST win for the Patriots, and a "we'd like to win" for the Texans

Yeah because QBs totally win Superbowls by themselves. The teams, coaching, and organization that Romo and Eli have around them aren't even comparable. Giants had the best pass rush in football the 2 years they have won Superbowls - it sure as hell wasn't Eli that beat Rogers/Brees/Brady in the playoffs. It was Strahan, Osi, Tuck, Uemeniyora, and JJP.

I never brought up the Giants in either argument, I never said they would swap QBs.

We are talking about Jay Cutler here. Go back to lurking, spare.

Itlan,

Would you take Tony Romo over Eli Manning?

Manowarr says they are basically interchangeable.

Hah you're using stats to support an argument and telling me I'm dumb for disagreeing. Stats don't tell the story. All I'm reading is excuses for the guy... No this, no that... Come on! Just admit he's an ok player. There is a reason he is constantly being ranked top 3 most overrated player in the NFL by his peers. I assure you if romo was on the giants and not Eli they would have 0 Super Bowl wins.

But as an eagles fan I hope you guys keep supporting him. We have enough real QBs in the east to deal with. Could use a soft game the new few years..

Cutler sucks, and so does Romo. Move on - lets all talk about how fucking dumb Araysar is for calling AD as good a player as Barry Sanders. Ya know, the guy that sweetness thinks is the only player in NFL history as good as he was.

I said that they deserve to be in the same conversation right now, and they do. After the first 6 years, AP's stats are actually better than Sanders'. We'll see if the next 5 years continue to hold that to be true.

Oh AP? I think that's a fair statement that AP could end up being the better player at the end of his career. How often does a RB with his size, power and speed come along. AP is a fucking beast. It's just RBs that run they way he does tend to fall off about year 8. He's not Barry talk yet but he will be

The original statement was that he was a once in a decade talent like Sanders was. Rings pretty true to me.
