Lol wow.. How can any Dallas fan defend Romo?! He's overrated and a step above a backup.
Isn't every starter in the NFL 1 step above a backup?

Even without the ACL last year, I figured Peterson would have started falling off by now. I remember when him and CJ2K were both having great years and their running being compared. CJ is a very finesse runner. They'd show Peterson running along the sidelines, and EVERY time he would plow into a defender instead of running out of bounds. Everyone said that taking that kind of pounding on purpose would cause him to shorten his career. It may still. But he's running better than he ever has in spite of that.

The original statement was that he was a once in a decade talent like Sanders was. Rings pretty true to me.
Totally different kind of RB but stat wise I think it's really valid. I get where you're going with it. I just don't know if AP can play at the same level later on as sanders did.

You can only make due with what you are given. Nobody is claiming Cutler is Peyton Manning who can basically turn any receiver into an All-Pro it seems. Then again he's been basically playing in the same offensive scheme for his entire career. Either way, Profootballfocus has rated the Bears OLine as one of the worst if not the worst over the last 3 years and we finally got a good receiver. I'd also be interested to know if having Martz for 2 years as his OC fucked up him in someway same as Warner and Bulger.

I'm confused by this? Warner had a monster year when Martz was OC. Best in his career

I think Bears fandom has simply bought into the "Martz is the devil!" meme, rather than admit that the Bears never had the OLine to run a Martz offense, and still don't have a decent OLine, years after Martz left the picture, even after a new GM.

Haha - I really thought the Giants would capitulate this season, but it looks like I was wrong. It would be inglorious if the Cowboys win out and miss the playoffs by a game. Fuck Garrett.

Not sure if Bears miss playoffs, but they are certainly trying to. They have the defense to win the division, but the whole team looks spent. Also, is any collapse as hilarious/predictable as Hotlanta's? I also can't see the Steelers making the playoffs - watching them on offense is like watching paint dry.

lately, maybe...

a healthy steelers team in the playoffs should make anyone uncomfortable. a good day for their D and you're scoring < 24 points

they remind me of the giants sort of, with albeit a worse offense

I dont think Martz was a bad OC and yes I agree that the Bears o-line simply didn't have the capability to protect a QB on 7 step drops while Martz's labyrinth of routes unfolded.

I also think that the defenses have caught up to Martz's schemes, it been already 10+ years since the Greatest Show On Turf.

Cutler is leading in the number of sacks for the past 3 years and that is no small part thanks to Martz. Eating turf so many times can't be good for anyone.

Bears defense is done. Everyone is fucking injured.

Even Urlacher didn't suit up for a division game against the Vikes yesterday and he's the defensive captain.

I appreciate the statement, but I'm not so sure. Hopefully the Ravens run away with it in the next two games and sit some starters for the last game so the Bengals can get that win. But winning the next three in a row is pretty much required for the Bengals at this point. But I guess you could say the same for the Steelers.

Ya, I'm afraid the Bengals might come to really regret not putting Dallas away yesterday when they should have. What's fucked is that win probably doesn't do anything for Dallas, but was EVERYTHING (possibly) for Cincy. Really hard to pick a team that looks good enough to win the SB right now. Closest thing to me is maybe Denver/NE. Nobody looks "great" imo.

I have to go with Den over NE solely b/c of their defense. I don't think Brady's absurdly productive O can counteract another good O, by itself, more than 50/50.

When it comes down to a shootout, i want no other O than new Englands. However, let's say Den/NE match up in the AFC championship. Even with the edge to Brady and a big edge to the O... Brady is throwing down wind to champ bailey-land, and peyton is throwing to talib, dennard, mccourty etc

edit: all that said, McGahee is out and that means it's all on Peyton.

There was a point in time Sunday where the Buccaneers were leading with less than 2 minutes left, Dallas was losing with less than a minute left, and the Redskins were losing with less than 2 minutes left. If all scores had held the Bucs would be the current number 6 seed with tiebreaker over the Vikings and in decent shape to make a playoff run. Instead they lost to the Eagles on the last play of the game, the Cowboys won on the last play of the game, and the Redskins tied with 30 seconds left in regulation and won on the last play of the game and now the Bucs are realistically out of the picture. Have to love the NFL.

Buahaha poor Ravens getting stuck with Negrobot
I was under the impression everyone loves Caldwell. Something I don't know about the guy (but should)?

And even if he's dumber than gravel, he could still come up with better game plans than fucking Cam and his Prevent Offense.

So... if the Rams win out, and SEA and SF lose out... The rams will take the division because they beat SF last week.
