If some white media talking head like Skip Bayless questioned a QBs "whiteness" for having a black fiancee and such, he would be instantly fired and probably never work in the media again. Double standards ftw.
I agree with your underlying point, but the fact of the matter is we are less than 40 years past segregation and we are a country with a history of slaves and of racism. Our media types live in a bubble. The simple truth is a lot of what Parker is saying is pretty much agreed on in some quarters. The question isn't about double standards, but how do we move past that?

Racism is still alive out there. The good thing is kids like RGIII are helping to get rid of that, while still being respectful of their past. Something a dude like Parker will never understand.

Sterling, I agree this weekend is looking good. Man, I hope the 9ers can beat the Pats. I just don't see it happening. I'm curious which Pitt team will show up this weekend, too. What a Jeckyll and Hyde season for them.

Well I think that's a good point actually. There are still plenty of people in the black community who see it that way. We are killing Parker for being the messenger. All he really said is that there are people who are saying this about RG3. He mentioned hearing it in "the barbershop". So there are people saying it but no one is supposed to talk about it. Shooting the messenger and sticking your fingers in your ears doesn't change anything. You can't have a public conversation about race at all. Even a black man like Parker can't say what he hears other black men saying or he is crucified by blacks and whites alike. He didn't even say that this was HIS opinion, just put it out there that the opinion exists. Stephen A. could have said "this is ridiculous and here's why" and made the case that RG3 should have support of blacks no matter who he marries or how he talks and dresses. Instead he got hysterical (like usual but without any salient point) and played it safe and into the hype.

It makes no sense to me personally.. Older people in this country are still clinging to old ideology. It's like they are asking for progress to stop.

Yeah but first of all he was white and ultra conservative. Second of all, and I hope more importantly, he was inferring that black QB's were actually inferior. Limbaugh was well known and controversial on the national scene. Was that before or after he got ousted from an ownership stake in the Rams?

This situation is another black man calling RG3 an Uncle Tom.Verydifferent.
FWIW, Rush didn't say that black quarterbacks were inferior, he said that the NFL was "desirous of a successful black quarterback" and because of that Donovan McNabb was getting more chances than his talent warranted. He should have known better, but it's not really a racist comment. He was really accusing the NFL or the Eagles of racism.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a Rush Limbaugh fan.

I liked McNabb but he was overrated. Even better when Brian Baldinger said he was the most overrated QB in the NFL.. Now they work together lol.

Any 49er fan want an avatar bet? We'll do the spread
I'm an Eagles fan but I do think the NFC is stronger this year. Pats have a lot going for them in this game but It would not shock me if the 49ers pull this one out.

The middle of the Cowboys D thanks to 7 defensive starters on IR - Steelers need to run, a lot.

Steelers secondary is dogshit now though and Romo can tear up a bad secondary with the best of them if he's not getting sacked or running for his life.

This game could go any direction and it wouldn't surprise me - but the Jason Garrett Cowboys generally play up/down to their competition. If the game is at all close at the end, give me Romo and Dez.
Really? I feel like all Cowboys fans would've said the opposite a couple weeks ago. Do they suddenly have the clutch gene?!

I love that they changed the schedules around a couple years ago. Weeks 16 and 17 are the most important now where before a team could run away with a division and sit everyone because there were no division games left. Some of these games normally wouldn't mean much at all, but the Dallas/Pitt game will be my #1 must-watch on Sunday. Usually there is at least one dry spell on Sunday - whether it's the morning, afternoon or evening games. But I have something to look forward to in every time slot. And I don't even have to stress out because my boys aren't playing. Sweat pants and shitty frozen food. Gonna be a good day.
It's actually funny you mentioned that, because this year most of the playoff spots have been locked up incredibly early. These last few games are for the wild card spots and possibly shuffling of division leaders, but overall, we've known who would be in the playoffs a while ago. The division games are mostly meaningless.

Never said that, though Romo isn't far behind Eli in 4th quarter winning drives.

This season, if the it's close at the end, a combination of Romo, Dez, and Bailey have been able to get the win or come damn close trying (see 2nd Giants game, Ravens).

If Garrett interferes though it's usually a loss, he's pretty unclutch with decision making.

Like I said, I don't think you'd be so confident if this were earlier in the season. I guess those 3 have risen to the occasion lately.

I pray they lose, though. Sorry man(0warr).

I'll take your bet Azeth. None of this points spread shit though.
When did this bullshit start? As Keg would say, "no pussy shit!"

No clue, and I sure as shit am not gonna make Azeth wear a 49ers avatar if the Niners lose but beat the point spread.
