The fuck are you talking about? Ben was the 3rd ranked Qb in that draft. He had zero chance of going top 4. Eli and Rivers went 1 and 4.
I'm pretty sure one of Kiper's mocks then had Ben going to the Steelers at 11 too. Not that Kiper is always good or right, mind you, he just was in that case.

Sounds like a winner to me. Between the fact that he's on the Jets, and what seems like an attitude problem, I'm predicting he's a complete bust.

"His biggest problem is that he doesn't know what he doesn't know," said a league executive, who spent extensive time assessing Smith before the draft. "I'm not sure he knows how to take instruction because he pretty much wouldn't listen or talk to our coaches . he's talented. He can sling it, he can fit it into tight spots, he can do a lot of things and I think he wants to be good. But you can't tell him anything right now. He's tuned out because he thinks he's got it all down."
"He doesn't have much presence, not much of a leader," said another league executive, who spent a great deal of time studying Smith before the draft. "I don't think he's a bad person, but that's not enough to be a quarterback in this league."

Two sources indicated that when Smith went on some visits to teams, rather than interact with coaches and front-office people, he would spend much of his time on his cell phone. Instead of being engaged with team officials, he would be texting friends or reading Twitter or a number of other distracting activities.

lol. How old is he? 20? I will admit acting like a douche during a fucking NFL interview process is kind of stupid, but if you can just learn how to read a playbook and arent autistic, all of those "anonymous NFL Exec's" are going to be putting their fist in their own mouth when that dumb black, disrespectful American Inventor is running all over their defense full of "stand-up" white dudes with 4.0 GPAs.

edit: Also when do they release the WUnderlic scores/ I know the NFL changed the test this year but its still basically the same scoring system I believe.

Alex the God Smith scored a 40. Kap a 37. Sadly for Fitzpatrick his little body and ivy league roots doomed him. (yet he made millions from the Bills lolololol)

Oh, and speaking of the Bills, they drafted EJ Manuel because he has big hands and plays well in cold weather games in addition to "performing better than any other QB during the cold/unfavorable element test"........lol Bills.

Jozu, your opinion sucks. The amount of red flags with that guy are too many to ignore. Sure, he might pass on some athleticism initially, but if you're not a student of the game, you'll be figured out after a season or so.

His attitude reminds me a bit of Cam Newton. Thinks he has everything figured out, and is emotionally fragile. NY isn't gonna be kind to him.

I wonder how many years until the Jets can be relevant again. It just seems like they have roster problems left and right and this offseason/draft didn't help them out at all.

If he isn't a superstar, drafting him is going to fuck the Jets for a good 3-4+ years. They'll end up gutting their staff and bringing new people in. The new staff be forced to keep Geno around since they used such a high pick; at the very least they won't be drafting another guy soon (can you really justify another early round QB when you've just been burned by Sanchez, and possibly Geno?), but they could possibly bring in a FA.

Never mind, I misspoke. For some reason I was thinking he fell to the 4th round.

Probably thinking of Barkley who went in the 4th to Philly. He's really probably the biggest loser of all in the 2013 draft. I read something that his extra year in college cost him about $15 million. Talk about a fucking terrible decision.

Yeah, that is who I was thinking of. Poor Barkley was projected top 5 last year, goes back to try and win a National Championship. Team fails hard, goes 7-6, and he falls to 4th round. Gotta be eating him up.

If they play Barkley this year, they are in trouble. Sit him behind Vick for a year, under a new system, he has a shot at being a pretty damn good QB.

EDIT Sucks to be Vick, is my thought. But that was before Chip took over.
