Welp, Carnell Lake who was an amazing safety and our current safety coach said after the draft Shamarko Thomas from Syracuse would be a 1st rounder if he was a couple inches taller. Apparently hes been proving that in minicamp so far, if hes as good as advertised I can see us letting go of Polamalu very soon. Dude cant stay healthy and seems like a shell of his former self when he is.

edit: Lake said he had a great game vs Robert Woods from USC and was an absolute nasty hitter.

So I just went and looked up this kids combine numbers...

He was the top performing safety at nearly every combine event (4.42 speed and a 40 inch vert? wtf) , insanely productive (88 tackles 2 ints this year), and slips all the way down to the 4th round? I don't get it.

Polamalu will get Harrison'd next season. Except Polamalu has money in the bank and never dealt with the drama of being cut etc so he'll take the deal.

BTW Carnell Lake switched from Strong Safety to Cornerback when Rod Woodson left and MADE THE FUCKING PRO BOWL. That shit was impressive as fuck. To change positions and replace one of the best ever at the position...

He just displayed ~3 minutes of useless shit in that video, the only thing of note worthy is him kicking uncontested 50 yard field goals with an overly long drop and almost missing two of them.

Man, you really are an insufferable cunt. It's a fucking kicker job. Given how bad Akers was last year, and how mental the kicking game can be, it's entirely possible he'll win the job. You say some of what he did was useless but the mental and physical aptitude to pull some of those tricks off ended up with him going to camp with an NFL team. If it was useless then no one would have offered.
