I actually think Peterson can be used as a baseline. Not so much putting up a career season after that type of injury, but returning as quickly as he did. Welker did it too. I think sports medicine is to the point where they can get guys back onto the field in a short period of time for something that would've been career ending before. I don't necessarily think RG3 will come back better than he was, but it's definitely possible he could be back to start the season. That said, I'd feel a hell of a lot better about it if they sat him the first 4-6 games.
Yeah we can get by with Cousins for 4-6. That would be my preference unless Andrews says his knee is completely healed.

Think of the trade value for Cousins though!!!! Sexy Rexy backing up for the win.

Why are wideouts a bunch of fairy ass pussies? There are like 4 bad dude receivers in the league, the rest are either divas or about themselves. (then you have the stand-up guys like Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson etc) Young has to be autistic or something, because his situation in Detroit wasnt even that bad. With all the double teams Megatron gets, the guy could have just shut the fuck up and played hard and would have ended up as the #2 with a ton of opportunities. Instead he is looking for a job.

Also, Roger Goodel made 30 million $ last year. LOL.
Stand up as in good character? Because Larry Fitz doesn't really fit there.

That's why Cousins needs to go 4-2 over the first 6 next year so we can get a 2nd rounder from somebody for him
If he goes 4-2 to start the season combined with his previous experience, you could get a 1st and a 3rd if you really tried. I should add that he performs well in the wins and isn't the sole reason you lose in the 2 losses. History dictates around that much value being given up for him provided those things happen, you could easily get a 3rd for him now based entirely off what he has shown thus far and quite possibly a 2nd and less likely a 1st because there are teams out there known to make stupid decisions at QB, the browns come to mind.

February has been a tough fucking month. First Niners lose the Super Bowl and now my mother dies. This is fucked.

I seriously doubt we would get a 1st for him. 1sts are like gold...although now that I think about it, the Raiders could easily overpay for a QB again and it wouldn't be nearly as bad as what they traded for Palmer.

I'm sorry for your loss and all, but you really place those two events on some sort of equal ground?

It was slightly an offhanded comment, as I didnt want to just come in here telling people about my loss, so I figured I would mention it in the same breath as the Super Bowl loss because I was fucking devastated when that happened as well. Obviously losing my mom is terrible and it hasnt really hit me yet, but I get really upset when the Niners lose, and it did almost felt like someone died the next day.

I just don't know where to start here. You are one of a kind, Jozu.

Jozu,

Imagine if the 49ers team died.... in a plane crash on the way to the Super Bowl

Thanks. Funeral is Wed not looking forward to it.

Anyway, lol Araysar. That would be...fucked up. I sometimes wonder the likely-hood of that happening to any sports team. The flight crew must be a cut above normal commercial crews and they must double, and triple check all flight systems and weather patterns etc before a team flight. I dont like flying myself and I have only been on a plane 3 or 4 times. I wonder how some of the players feel having to fly a ton of times during the year. Madden wont fly.

Flying's not that big of a deal. Flights to and from SF to everywhere in the country happen all day long every day of the year, Madden's a dumbass and probably more statistically likely to die in his stupid bus than on a plane. Doubt there are special precautions above the norm for football teams. Maybe special stewardesses, those guys are probably a handful, but might drop some crazy tips too. I'm sure no one would have blamed Ray Lewis if their flight crashed though.

It did happen to a Russian hockey team of the KHL.

There are something like 87,000 daily flights in the U.S. alone. Air travel's safety rate is something around 0 deaths per 100,000,000 miles traveled, you have to go to some insane number of miles/days to be statistically relevant. Let's say I'm a Giants player....I'd definitely rather fly to all 8 away games + playoffs per year than take the team bus up and down I-95 or something over and over again.
