Yes, the unstoppable Ted Gin. None of those players who were out were all that significant.Really? Pretty sure Ted Ginn got injured in the playoffs against the Saints and the backup punt returner filling in for him the following game fumbled/muffed the ball twice, setting up 2 Giants scores. Lucky them. For receivers they were using Crabtree and 2 guys that came off the streets 3 weeks prior because of injuries.
Then last year they lost Manningham, Hunter, and Kyle Williams to season ending injuries, and then their entire pass rush (Aldon and Justin Smith) tore shoulder and triceps muscles in the last few games of the regular season and were nearly worthless through the Super Bowl.
I would say injuries dramatically impacted both playoff runs.
People don't seem to understand how important luck is in the NFL. It's not like MLB or NBA where you have 162 and 82 game seasons.Well, you can make your predictions but one injury could easily derail a team, can't predict that.
I'd have no problem saying the Niners were better than those teams last year as they reached the Superbowl. This year? Prove it.
Only because of what his replacement did.Whelp, it's official the world's ending, someone is claiming Ted Ginn getting injured dramatically impacted a teams playoff run.
Either that or you're fucking retarded.
I would say the 2 best pass rushers on the team being injured at the end of the regular season last year was pretty significant seeing as the defense went from giving up 14 points/game when Justin and Aldon were healthy through the first 14 weeks to 28/game from week 15 through the Super Bowl when they were hurt.Yes, the unstoppable Ted Gin. None of those players who were out were all that significant.
Then let's bet. What is very bad and unreliable in your eyes for a quarterback, and what's your wager?and someone else will be very bad and unreliable this year. Just like every year. (my bets are on your QB)
2008 we won the SB after our starting RB was hurt (Willie Parker), and didnt have Hines Ward remotely healthy for the SB with a fucked up MCL from the Ravens game. On top of the hodge podge OL we were fielding at the time and after losing Alan Faneca.I would say the 2 best pass rushers on the team being injured at the end of the regular season last year was pretty significant seeing as the defense went from giving up 14 points/game when Justin and Aldon were healthy through the first 14 weeks to 28/game from week 15 through the Super Bowl when they were hurt.
And anyone who doesn't think Ginn getting hurt in 2011 was a big deal is a fucking moron. The guy was one of the best return men in the league that year and didn't have a single fumble all season. Kyle Williams comes in and his muff and fumble lead to 10 of the Giants' 20 points in the NFC Championship game. Reliability is important, and that's what was lost when he got injured. If Ginn doesn't get injured the Niners probably end up in the Super Bowl.
